Question 1

IS the ram capable of being upgraded, if so what is the max limit? can this machine handle a game like dark souls?

Machine's not good for gaming. Even basic games, anything that users the processors makes the entire body heat up rapidly. After an hour or so it's physically hot to the touch. I've raised this thing up on mini stilts to increase airflow and it's still a problem.

I don't know if the ram can be upgraded. But I will honestly say, both as a video user and gamer, I would have bought another laptop had I used this before hand.

Question 2

Does this have wifi?

Yes.  Of course.  We had some problems with the drivers but after getting the latest drivers from Lenovo or Intel, the Wifi works okay.

It is pretty laptop. The screen is clear and bright.  It is quite large but thin.

My only complaint is the keyboard is awful.  It flexes and the keys don't depress far enough so it is difficult for me to use.

But the price is worth it.  There is also a version with an i7 cpu.

Question 3

Is it certain that this model (Lenovo IdeaPad Z710) comes with the integrated nVidia Graphics card? The official Lenovo website staff states that this model does not come with the nVidia card, although the specs on the site claim that it does. I'm just needing some clarification.

It does indeed have a nvidia video card, along with a seperate integrated graphics card. Works pretty well for the price.

I would like to know if this Intel i5 processor is a 3rd gen (Ivy Bridge) or a 4th gen (Haswell). I don't see anything to indicate the gen...?

Its a 4th generation. You can tell because of the first number after the i5-4200 is a 4. :)

No. Most laptops don't have space to put extra hard drives in to it. It becomes heavy and takes more power.

Question 6

Does anyone who bought this model knows if hard drive is standard or with hybrid 8GB SSD portion(if possible reply with model number of the hard drive)? Is there an mSATA expansion port for a possible SSD card inside or a second hard drive bay(can't seem to find picture with the bottom cover removed to see all available options it comes with).Thanks

It's just a standard run of the mill 2.5" 1tb 5400rpm drive, no SSD component.

I don't believe there is an internal mSATA expansion.  The only way I know of to add a 2nd drive is by removing the optical/dvd drive and replacing it w/ a 2nd drive bay (which Lenovo does not sell, but you can find viable components w/ a little bit of internet searching).

Look for the lenovo ideapad z710 user guide, and go to page 43 to see a rendering of the layout of the components.

Really interested in this product however a review on the site speaks of World of Warcraft crashing everytime it's run, I play the game quite a bit so that's a pretty big risk for me to take for 700+$, so can anyone confirm or deny whether that was a singular problem he had or whether its the laptop itself?

I don't see any reason why any computer would be incompatible with WoW by itself. The person in question probably has not updated their drivers or done something else wrong. Indeed, this laptop should run a game as old as WoW at max settings.

Does it come with backlit keyboard ? I ordered Lenovo 59387520 model because when I was shopping, no one could confirmed me that this one is FHD.

Yes, it is Fulll HD, 1080p.

And, yes, it has a backlit keyboard. Function+Space activates it.

I don't believe this model is sold with Win7 anywhere.  The trackpad driver is Win8 (and 8.1) only as are a handful of other drivers for the machine.  In theory you **could** install Win7 on this machine after purchase, but there are no guarantees you will find the appropriate drivers to make everything work.
