GMC R-2 Toast AZT-GMCR2-BL Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: The best thing about this case is how nice it looks. You would be hard pressed to find a better looking case for the price. The vertically mounted optical drive, along with the nice paint job gives this case a very streamlined/minimalistic look. The lighting on the front makes this case look really nice in a dark room. The installation of both the optical drive and the hard drive was much easier than I expected it to be considering the unique design of this case. The USB and mic/headphone jack is in a pretty good spot, though I am not sure why they don't have the mic/headphone ports right next to each other instead of having two USB port in between them.

Cons: The old optical drive from my Gateway tower was too long to install in the R-2 Toast, but I knew that before I bought it so I just swapped in a newer/shorter one. I had some trouble with the optical drive eject button. The problem was that every time I would close the tray, it would eject it again. I think the problem was that the eject button on my optical drive stuck out a little more than normal. I was able to fix it by pushing the drive downward a bit. The paint is easy to scratch and the metal siding is a little flimsy, but overall the case feels pretty solid. Make sure you get quiet fans because this case doesn't muffle sound much at all.

Overall Review: I threw and old Micro ATX P4 system into this tower from an old gateway box. The installation was pretty hassle free, but I did end up having to remove the finger guard from the PSU fan because it was hitting my CPU heatsink. This wouldn't have been a problem if the PSU in the Gateway case wasn't of such a strange design. Overall this is a great case for the price. If I had paid more for it I probably would have only gave it 4 stars, but for the price makes up for the few flaws this thing has.

Pros: You can't beat it for the price. Nice looking. Smaller that most cases. Fits the basics, 1 CD drive & 2 hard disks. Has flip top lid on the front top of the case for audio & USB port access.

Cons: The CD drive is mounted vertically. I installed a Plextor drive and it works fine, no issues(even without installing these little glue on plastic tabs they give you to stick on the CD tray). This may be a problem if you hope to use mini-CD's. Haven't tried one yet. Full size CD's work fine.

Overall Review: The case comes with a 12v fan installed.(the description didn't make this clear). In addition the fan is quiet.

Pros: Unique design - Smaller than normal footprint -abillity to use large videocard (Nvidia GTX260,ATI 4870) - Well ventilated- 49.00 dollars!

Cons: Not really a con because I knew it before I purchased it, but would have been nice to have at least one expansion bay,no biggie just a prefference. Depending on which make of cd/dvd drive you use some of them will hang on the case when opening and closing. My asus would catch when opening and closing so I swapped it out for a liteon I have and the problem dissappeared!

Overall Review: I like this case, and at 49.00 dollars I think that is the sweetspot for it pricewise. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this case for a first time builder as it could be a little difficult for someone with no experience.

Pros: The case isnt flimsy like rosewell cases, GMC really used the bailout money wisely on these,lol Its small, classy,quiet,pretty duable and well thought out inside, roomy.

Cons: Since it has no psu, its expensive. Though I like to steer clear of PSU Case combos. The instructions suck. While taking the front panel off the way they said, a very small piece of plastic that snaps in place broke off, but didnt make a difference. Make sure you remove the piece of plastic that covers the optic drive bay first!

Overall Review: For some unknown idiotic reason there is a plastice piece stuck in that you have to snap out before you snap in the panel where the optic goes, Why is it there? Why GMC? Anyway it looks like an Ipod, pops like a toaster and and is a very calssy looking case, something you would see in a nice house where no real gamers live, just internet browsers.

Pros: *Quality steel construction(don't go smacking it with a hammer though :P) *interesting new way to mount optical drives *cool blue lights *decent airflow (my opinion)

Cons: Fan mount in bottom was bad. For me, a fan at any speed was extremely loud down there.

Overall Review: Very cool and compact. I have an OC'ed Q6600 in here on a 680i sli and it runs at 39c idle and >50c under load. Also, I have a 9800 GTX+ and it fits perfectly, but you can't just slide it in you have to come in at an angle then plug it in because of the things the side panel sits on.

Pros: Very small case for being ATX form factor. Very stylish if your looking for a minimalist type case with a little bit of flare. The LEDs illumination on the front of the case is not rediculously bright and annoying like a lot of cases with LEDs on them are...plus side is that they can be unplugged very easily. Optical Drive works as advertised with no issues getting the button on the case to line up with the button on the drive to eject the disk. Multiple options for running the wiring to the Optical Drive as well. 90mm fans can be mounted two in the rear, one on the side door and another on the bottom of the case so ventilation of the case is good.

Cons: If you have a high end card like a GeForce 200 series or possibly even a 9000 series card your going to have a hard time making it fit. Ive had 2 GF 260s in mine but they have to be slid in sideways and then coaxed into place to fit right. Also, being that its such a small case, heat can be an issue. If you have an older IDE Optical drive then it gets a little cramped running the larger ribbon cable through the provided holes...but still possible. If your a freak about cooling then this case may scare you as it can only support 90mm fans. No dust filters although thats more of a high end option in cases but does result in the need to have a can of air blown through it every month or so depending on the dust levels in your enviroment.

Overall Review: I ding the case 2 eggs because higher end video cards are a PITA (difficult) to fit in the case and cooling options are pretty minimal. I've moved this case around a lot and its stood up to it all so I think it would be a great LAN Party case but at the same time if your into having a bunch of drives then this is definately not for you because the only exterior type drive you can put in is an optical drive...although a card reader MIGHT work as with the use of a adapter brackets (2.5 to 3.5 drive bay). I would highly suggest this case to anyone that likes the styling and doesnt intend to put really high end stuff in it, otherwise you might run into some fitment issues.

Pros: -Extremely well designed. Everything worked as advertised. -Rolled edges -3 80mm fan ports -Removable hard drive bay was a nice touch -Accent lights are pretty but not obnoxious -Comes with loads of screws -Tons of space inside the case

Cons: -Doesn't hold more than one optical drive -Doesn't hold more than 2 hard drives -Front panel USB/Audio is a little wobbly when plugging in -Top panel metal has a little bit of a wobble in it -Plastic-covered thumb screws for door (kinda nice though)

Overall Review: Absolutely amazing case for $30. Would and will buy again. HOLDS even the most colossal graphics cards! I used a Mini-atx board, and they were missing 1 hole for the bottom right of the board, but the other screws nearby make up for it.

Pros: Doesn't look like a standard case (great for media center), sleek, slim, lightweight, ports on top w/ cover, price, color, fits several fans, quite roomy, toaster :)

Cons: I think the metal is painted and therefore will expose scratches - i'll worry about that when it happens though (maybe just cover with a sharpie). Since the 5.25" drive bay is outside, you have to feed the SATA cable through the bottom - consider right angled cables. I skipped using the sticky tabs - I think they actually prevented my CD from spinning.

Overall Review: This was my first build ever, and this case made the install quite easy for me. I was able to fit my super large GIGABYTE HD 4850 fanless (newegg it) card (which is larger than most video cards). Look for vertically mounted CD drives - look for company specs on that since newegg doesn't usually mention that. If you're looking for a unique case that makes people say "What is that, it looks cool" this is the case.
