Does this require speakers that actually have an Aux In jack? Can you directly plug in some old computer speaker's 3.5 into this to have it work?

If they're amplified speakers, sure. Think of it as an input source (for your wifi.) I have mine connected with an optical cable directly into my Onkyo receiver and the sound is crisp and clear.

Does this have a normal 3 prong north american outlet?

It comes with a north american 2 prong adapter which has a USB socket. The cable is a USB to microUSB so, you could also plug the cable directly into the back of the TV if it has a USB socket.

Is this a 3 pack or a single chromecast audio?

It arrived as just a single chromecast audio.
