Is this capable of HDMI @ 1080x1920 and DVI @ 1080x1920 simultaneously?

Yes. And there is a DVI to HDMI adapter included so it can run dual HDMI as well. I have been running dual HDMI for six months and it works great.

Is this docking station compatible with Windows 8?

Yes - it is compatible with Windows 8 and with Windows 8.1.  I'm driving it with a new Toshiba laptop and have a 24" HP and a 21" LG display hooked up to it.  I close the screen on my laptop (change the power options so this doesn't put the system to sleep) and slide it under the screen on the big monitor.

I also use a Bluetooth Logitech keyboard and a Microsoft Bluetooth Sculpt mouse.  USB 3 ports are sufficiently fast that there is no lag or latency visible and no screen flutter or discoloration.

I'm extremely happy with this setup.  If I wanted to I could also open the laptop and have three monitors available to me (and I've done that too and it works fine.  However, 3 screens I find just a bit too much - have a hard time finding things.  Two large screens are perfect for me.

I hope that helps.  You'll need to download the latest driver set for W8.1 but it's not an issue.  I just did that upgrade last weekend.  I've not had a moments trouble with this unit.

What laptops is it compatible with?

The hardware connects to any USB port, so any laptop.  Then you need software drivers which come with for Windows and Apple.  Another reader didn't have a great experience with an Apple.  Windows was fine.

Question 4

I have a regular laptop and i want to be able to use two monitors and separate keyboard and mouse will this work?

That is the purpose of this device. You can add external video, sound, Ethernet, mouse, keyboard, etc. and it is all connected to the laptop thru 1 USB cord.

Question 5

Can it be used with a Wyse Thin Client running Linux? I have a few of these and they are only good for single monitors and I would like to leverage it for multiple monitors, but I am unsure about the viability.

Generally, these things are not compatible with Linux.  I'm a Linux sysadmin (though I still have much to learn) and have been using Linux on desktops, laptops and servers for several years now.  It is possible there might be some software that has been developed to use these devices with Linux, but I don't know of any right now.  It would be nice if there were such software available, but I've not seen any yet.

I have a Sony Vaio FW series laptop w/window 7. Will  this docking station work ?

The docking station has been working fine with a Sony Vaio ultrabook. I bought the ultrabook about 4 months ago.

Question 7

Has anyone had a problem with USB audio and this device? I am connecting a Jabra UC 550 headset through it (no extra ports on my Surface Pro 4), and the audio input keeps dropping.  The only cure is to unplug/replug.

I would recommend checking to make sure that you are using the latest drivers for the device and make sure your windows is updated as well.
