I'd like to know if these Ear phones are electronic?????????

Electronic? The headphones are certainly made with electronic components. The headphones operate like any other headphones by simply connecting to a headphone port. The quality of sound, both bass and treble, offer better than expected performance, however not worth $300! I would not pay more than $80 for the headphones. The construction, although solid, may be awkward for people with large frames, especially since the headphones can be too tight against the head.

Question 2

Are these headphones electrostatic?????

I don't think so.  They are inspired by the electrostatic speakers from Martin Logan is what the owners manual says.  
I received these free when I purchased a new Yamaha networked receiver.  I already had some beats headphones, but I have to say I like these better because they are easy on the ears (physically) but also if you are planning to work out - the will fall off easily as well if you are jumping or actively moving around.  Sound is great.

Question 3

Will these speakers work with non-apple devices, specifically PC computers (older models) and Android tablets?  Is there any additional hardware required?

Even though the device is designed for an IPod specifically, on the Android, it can still play and pause,or stop.  You just cannot do any skipping.  BTW, it does sound good.

Question 4

Has anyone tried these with the port on the bottom of the Playstation 4 controller? How well did it work?

I don't know about co-function with the PS4 controller, but this unit is tight on the head.  it is quite uncomfortable to wear if you have a medium size head.  the sound is good though.
