HTPC 6000

The HTPC 6000 series was designed for one purpose: allowing users to build their dream HTPC system in a truly CE-looking chassis with all standard components. At first glance, the daring appearance of its exterior design looks and matches your other AV devices. On the other hand, the interior design of the HTPC 6000 is able to accommodate all standard HTPC components; and more importantly, it supports up to six hard drives to meet extended data storage needs. The HTPC 6000 series is one of the best-selling HTPC chassis in North America.

Combining silence, style, easy media access, and an affordable price, the HTPC 6000 series is a state-of-the-art media center. If that wasn't enough, the HTPC 6000 includes all the options for a 20 x 2 LCD Media Center Display. Combine that with our new HTPCKB-100 wireless Keyboard and IR Universal TV Remote set, and the complete build will no doubt provide the ultimate digital home solution.

Good Product

Pros: Lots of space for drives and room inside.

Cons: See below.

Other Thoughts: I'm a little disappointed - after paying for 3 day shipping, the order took some extra time due to the holidays - on top of that the case came in damaged - looks like it was thrown around/dropped. The thumb screw was pushed in and the drop down for the front door doesn't sit correct unless force fully closed. I even tried to call Newegg and their response was "Well, you can return it and re-purchase it otherwise we can't do anything for you."

Other than that, I absolutely love the case.

Had since 2012

Pros: -meh. Its a good price and gets the job done sorta.

Cons: -Lacks space for proper sized video card! I had to dremmel a hole in the top to fit the video card side power cables.
-power button feels so cheap.

Other Thoughts: I wish I had bought one that can fit a proper video card. Aw well.

This is a GREAT case...

Pros: Solid, rolled edges, more room than needed for a HTPC case.

Anyone that gave a poor review was obviously using this for the WRONG application.
This is a rock solid case, well built, and roomy enough for a troop of Howler monkeys.

In twenty years of building PC,s, this is the best value for the dollar of any/all components I have purchased.
Buy this with all good confidence... You can't be let down. (unless you plan to store Chimps in it Howlers are as big as I would go.).

Cons: The bad reviews.

There are no cons. It's a HTPC case.
A good one at that.

Other Thoughts: I can't find my monkeys...

It's all good!

Better than the bad reviews made it out to be.

Pros: It seems they finally fixed the biggest complaint most people had about the case, that being the optical drive not lining up correctly with the button on the front and people had to leave the screw out on that side of the hard drive rack. Well mine didn't have holes, but slots for the screws which allows you to slide the enclosure back and front then tighten it down.

Tons of space for like 6 hard drives or more.
Comes with an LCD screen, however it only displays "Home theater PC"
Internal 120mm fan is pretty darn quiet.

Cons: Now the bad. The lower door which conceals the USB ports and card reader uses the cheapest, crapiest plastic latch to hold it up. So cheap that mine arrived broken. Fairly certain the case I received was sent to someone else who returned it after they broke it, which was then sold to me as new when it was not.

Packaging stinks, mine arrived with the top slightly pushed in, and the expansion slot metal also pushed in. Both thankfully could fixed with a little pressure but still.

If you plan to load it up with drives like me, cable management is a pain, but doable.

PRICE!!!!!! I can't believe htpc cases cost so much! Normal at cases that are way better than this cost half as much, talk about price hiking for no darn reason!

Power supply can only pull in air from inside unless it pulls air from the back.

Other Thoughts: Other thoughts. Well first and for most, I'm pretty sure my case was used/open box and sold as new, arrived damaged and was packed by a blind man on a vodka binge. However I was able to make it work. It looks great, does what i need and the thing I was worried about most (optical drive lining up) has finally been addressed.

Great HTPC Case Idea, Good Implementation, So-so QC

Pros: It is hard to find an HTPC case that works perfectly for what you want because there aren't very many "horizontal" cases in circulation and everyone's needs are different. This case suited my needs very well.
- Full ATX
- Case fans are provided (and are actually quiet!)
- Optical drive bay for a blu ray drive
- Special space for an LCD display manufactured by the same company (nMEDIAPC)

Cons: This case is difficult to work with because everything has to sit PERFECTLY in order to work. For example, I had problems with the optical drive because I thought there was no way to screw it into the bracket so it sat loose (it turns out that was incorrect - there are screw holes, they're just really easy to miss) and if it doesn't sit PERFECTLY then the drive won't fit through the bay and retract. Another example is graphics card placement. The size of the case greatly restricts the size of the graphics card you can use (though there is enough room for 2, or 3 if that's your thing, as long as they're not too long) and so at this point in time I couldn't even dream of getting an NVidia 970 or 980 since there are none in production right now that fit inside the case.

A major con is the LCD panel. It will only work (without personally modifying the case) with nMEDIAPC's proprietary LCD screen, the model PRO-LCD. The thing is, they don't produce PRO-LCDs anymore. I emailed the company about this and they responded by telling me a workaround - buy a PRO-LCD-S or PRO-LCD-B. They are just PRO-LCDs mounted with screws onto brackets. I purchased a PRO-LCD-S and sure enough I was able to unmount the LCD panel from the bracket and then screw it into the case. This success aside, it would have been nice if they offered an option to include the screen with the case at added cost.

Other Thoughts: It's hard to say whether I recommend this case to others. It works for me (mostly - still working out the optical drive issue), but it won't necessarily work for you. I do think that it is one of the best, most feature-inclusive cases available in the "horizontal" variety, meaning you don't have to give up a lot of things you'd normally get in a "vertical" case. Do your research before deciding on the case you want.

True HTPC Case

Pros: Attractive design
Up to 6 HDD's
Hidden front panel
Fits full ATX motherboard
(2) 120mm fan mounts
(2) 80mm fan mounts
Dim/subtle HDD activity light (not distracting)

Cons: Only one way to mount the PSU

Other Thoughts: I have never left a single review before (yeah I'm that guy), but I wanted to for this case. I wanted a HTPC case that looked like it belonged in a home theater setup, but I wanted to use a full-size ATX board and have room for at least 4 HDD's. This case not only looks sleek sitting on the shelf under my audio receiver, but it had room for everything I wanted to install in it. The solid drive bay chassis swivels up and out for easy installation of the optical and HDD's and included are rubber mounts for each drive.

If I had to give one complaint about this case, it would be that you cannot mount the PSU, but in one direction. I would prefer it wasn't blowing hot air onto my CPU, but rather out the vents on the side. Not a deal breaker as I've encountered many cases like this. Also, the right hinge on the front door of mine was broken and required some epoxy to repair. Unfortunately, I didn't notice until well into my install and after playing with the door for a bit, so I can't guarantee that I didn't break it.

For those complaining about the drive installation, FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS. I admit the English is not the best, but it clearly tells you the order to install all components and if you follow them, you'll have zero issues. Though I did notice one point in the instructions says to install the optical drive in 'Position B' and another says 'Position A'. Turns out that 'Position B' put the drive's control button smashed against the cases', preventing it from working. Switching it to 'Position A' solved that and the drive ejects and retracts smooth as butter.

Poor Build Quality

Pros: -Attractive styling.
-Good dimensions for a HTPC.

Cons: -Front panel didn't open due to misaligned parts.
-Flimsy, light chassis.
-Cheaper looking in person compared to photos
-No Blu Ray logo as depicted in photos.
-Power button is plastic and feels cheap.

Other Thoughts: This case looks cool in the pictures, but is very cheaply made. The back expansion card panel was bent. I was easily able to bend it back due to how thin the metal is. The front panel that is supposed to open did not. The panel did not fit the case properly and it seams like they just jammed it into place. I didn't even attempt to put any parts in this case. As soon as I took it out of the box and inspected it, I knew I was sending it back. Ordered a GD07B instead.
