Can these speakers plug directly into my TV, for use without a receiver?

In theory yes, but you'dhaveto put RCA plugs on the wires. A receiver is the recommended way to go. Why would you buy a 7.1 speaker set without a 7.1 capable receiver? You spent 250 on speakers, spend the extra 250 on the receiver. With a TV you're most likely limited to only stereo.

Are all of the speakers wall mountable other than the subwoofer, of course?

The 4 satellite speakers are definitely wall mountable. The 2 large speakers CAN be mounted IF you're willing to affix brackets. I mounted all of these speakers on the wall myself very easily. I attached a small, black L-bracket to the top of the 2 large speakers and mounted it on the wall with it; no problem.

Does it come with speaker wiring? Did not find wire in package list. If not, what type of wire is recommended?

Yes it comes with speaker wire. Pretty sure it's 18awg. I upgraded to 12awg with banana plugs to connect to the back of the receiver. The rca plug for the sub is short, it's not long enough if you are looking to put the sub behind you. Also the speakers sound amazing. The sub kicks a lot of power. I recommend buying a onkyo receiver. The self tuning is amazing and has tons of features.

are these atmos speakers?

No, they are NOT Dolby ATMOS unfortunately.

I have a Sony 7.1 AV receiver and want to make sure this system will be compatible?

You can only get Stereo from the RCA (red and white) plugs on your receiver.
