my cartridge has an "E" after the numbers - PB-210E. i'm looking to replace it. will this be the right size? thank you! :)

It looks likes,the specs are the same.  My original cartridge also has a E.  I am still using the original one . It should work but not sure.

Will it print from an iPad?

I could not get the printer to connect wirelessly.  After numerous calls to Pantum support, they could not solve the problem (quit trying). So I have a wired printer. So no, it will not print from an iPad.

Can I buy ink for pantum instead of toner cartridge?

No, this printer does not use ink as it is not an "ink jet" style machine.. It is a "laser printer" that uses powder in the so called "toner cartridge".. You will find it to be more efficient, quieter and less expensive than any ink-jet that I've ever used.. If Pantum brings out a color ink jet, I'll be ready to buy it..

Mine came with one cartridge/toner which only lasted about a month or 6 weeks, my son told me when I bought it that I should take advantage of the cartridge while it was on sale.
I would advise getting a toner cartridge and just keep it so when the original stops, you do not have to wait for another to come.

What is the self life of this product?

black toners are very small particles of plastic so they don't really go bad.

Only thing that can go bad is the drum.

All toner cartridges are in principle same with the exception of the packaging, that is the shape of the cartridge. Pantum cartridge is too new to know the shelf life but if its anything like my HP color laser, pantum cartridge should have a shelf life of 5 years or more.

Of course this assume that you do not store it in area where hot sun can bake it or freeze it in the unheated garage in the winter time. Or store it in a bathroom with shower to give you 100% humidity.

I bought this item and now when I put it in my printer I get an orange light for the toner.

Am I doing something wrong or is the toner bad?

I don't yet know if the toner is bad although unlikely.
There is a strip of pliable plastic that must be pulled and removed completely for the toner to be dispensed.
Do you recall if this plastic was first removed?

FYI, I have purchased two of these printers and one additional cartridge without incident.

seems to be a scarce product.  therefore, can the catridge be manually refilled with black toner refill kits?  or does the cartridge come with a micro chip in it that hinders refills?

You cant refill the cartridge, it has a micro chip in it so you will have to buy a new one.

No it will not, this is not a heat reactive toner.
