Are these powered by AAA batteries or do you have to plug them in to charge them?

They are rechargeable. I didn’t notice any battery access panel and assume it uses those little button rechargeable batteries like hearing aids.  It comes with a USB to micro USB charging cable.

Are these headphones adjustable to fit different size heads?

Yes.

Each side of the band adjusts in 1/8-inch increments, for a total of about an inch of adjustment for either side.

This has an inbuilt battery not a removable one. It's a rechargeable one which use a micro usb charger just like your cellphone to charge it. this is a goodone. I use it
