does this bluetooth give you notification sound when receiving a text message?

I have used this ear piece for years with a Droid and any alert I would hear from my Droid I would hear in the Bluetooth ear piece.  If my phone was on vibrate I would still hear an alert in my ear.  Battery life is great and it charges fast.

can this be used on an office phone?

If the phone supports a bluetooth connection, yes.

The headset has a limited range.  The specs say 33 feet, but my  home office desk is in another room from the telephone base station, and even though  it is within 33 feet I have to use a wireless handset.

Bottom line for me:  it's a good headset but I am unable to use it as I intended.

does it work on iphone 6?

Yes it does. I have an i phone 6+. I have tried nearly everything out on the market and this is by far the most comfortable earpiece I've ever worn.

Many have said this is small.  Just how small is it? What's the actual size, and what size were your previous ones?

It's 2" long and a 1/2"  wide small enough that you'll loose it on a regular basis. It has never fallen out of my ear but it is small enough that I put it down and loose track of it. It's so comfortable  that I have forgotten it's in my ear. I dropped it in a muddy field where I was working and it was found about a week later and after drying it out I'm still using it. That was about 7 months ago and probably the third time it was left out in the rain after dropping it. I can't kill it and without anything over the ear to hold it in its comfortable enough to wear all day. I'm thinking about buying another one before they decide to"improve" it and discontinue this model.

Can it connect to a PC via a Bluetooth adapter and be used to function as a mic?

Yes.  I have been able to do this with both Windows 7 and Windows 10.  But you cannot use just any Bluetooth USB adapter.  I purchased the Plantronics BT300C UC Adapter (Plantronics part 89259-02) but I'm guessing that most probably the 89259-01 would also work.  Windows doesn't make it easy to switch audio devices, so the easiest way to go between this headset and, for example your desktop speakers, is to just unplug the USB dongle when you want to switch.  You can also download a free Windows utility called Audio Switcher - their website URL ends with ".ch/er"
