Question 1

What sort of power supplies are compatible?  Most of the "mini-itx" power supply listings on Newegg seem to be underpowered for a gaming rig; am I wrong about this or is there another PS form factor that will work with this chassis?  Or is there a different way to power the GPU independently?  I think my RX580 peaks well over 200W and the Ryzen I plan to buy will be 65W.

You are not limited to “mini-itx” as this case will fit ATX and SFX sized PSUs. It all depends on what you want to do with your setup. I have an open loop water cooled setup and needed space. So I chose the Corsair SF750 and its powering a 3900x, 2070, two ssd’s, an m.2 and a water pump (and various RGB) without issue. You CAN get a 1000w ATX PSU inside of you don’t mind the space it fills. If you go with air cooling or most closed loop water cooling systems you will be fine with full size. Also, I highly recommend something modular.

Will a 2.7 slot GPU have enough room to breathe?

I have a Asus Strix 1080ti in it and it barely fits. The Side glass should have vents but it does not. I run my system open without the side glass on the GPU side.

What is the best case fan configuration for an air cooled set-up? (no radiator)

Hello,

It doesn't look like the case gets any airflow from the front so you would need to create a rising airflow configuration with your fans.  You would need two intake fans on the bottom and the two on the top would be exhausts.

One thing to note is that because you are forced to orient the graphics card vertically you may get higher temps using a dual or triple fan design card as opposed to using a graphics card that has a reference style or "blower" cooler.  This is because the blower cooler would suck air into the card and exhaust it out of the rear of the system instead of blowing the warm air back into the case like on most graphics cards that use fans with blades on them on top of heatsink fins.

I provided a graphics card below as a perfect example of the type of card you should use in this kind of case.  Hope this helps!

will it fit 350mm radeonvii?

It’s probably gonna be more of a height thing . If you need something I compare to I have a RTX 2080 FE and it fits but the 6 and 8 pin plugs at the top of the card are a PITA.

can this support mini-dtx like the ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Impact which is a tad bigger than a regular mini-itx?

There won't be mounting holes for it and you'll block some cable management but theoretically it's possible. I definitely wouldn't recommend it this is a mini-itx case.
