YES IT WILL IT HAS HDMI FOR SATELLITE OR CABLE, BLURAY,DVD,AND VCR ,. BUT YOU CAN CONNECT WHATEVER HDMI DEVICE TO THOSE CONNECTIONS AS LONG AS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE PLUGGED INTO WHATEVER SLOT . I REALLY LIKE THE POWER OUTPUT IT IS MUCH MORE THAN YOU WILL NEED FOR MOVIES T.V. OR VIDEO GAMES YOU WILL LIKE IT ESPECIALLY FOR A BUDGET UNIT ....HOPE THIS ANSWER HELPS YOU .

Did the system work as intended for you guys?

It worked for me. Its a bit noisy and sounded like a fan was going out but has gone strong for a few months. Usually when starting a show on Hulu or Netflix about 20 seconds in its like the receiver "reboots" but plays fine. Its hard to find a balance on what version of Dolby/ stereo mode works. I can't always get 5.1 to work although I don't really need it. 
Highs are a little shrill and vocals a bit muffled. The sub sounds surprisingly good. Decent volume output. I got it for an extra boost in audio for my bedroom TV and I'm not disappointed FOR THE PRICE.

I want to use this product on a different region which has 220V wall outlets. Is this item capable of free voltage so it can convert?

you need to purchase a Voltage Converter From 220/240 to 110/120 &From 110/120 to 220/240 wich cost about less than $20.00 US

Is it possible to attach a powered sub to this unit?

Yes, the ease of it depends on what time on what type of ports you're subwoofers amplifier needs. On this stereo there is only one jack for sub out and it operates using standard speaker cabling, so unless you're powered subwoofer can receive the same signals  then you might want to look elsewhere. This is a good stereo but it will reboot itself randomly now and then

Has anyone sucessfully programmed a Tivo remote to turn on/off and adjust the volume of this unit?  I'd rather not use another remote control for just watching TV through my Tivo which is 80% of the time.

I have programmed my Xboxone to work with this stereo and it uses on/off volume up and volume down, you're remote should be compatable

Which 5.1 audio formats does this support? Is it only Dolby formats or can it also do DTS and Lossless formats such as Linear PCM or True HD?

I plan only using this for video game systems. I have all last and current gen systems (PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii and Wii U). I know there are some games only support DTS and the Wii U ONLY uses Linear PCM (because Nintendo won't pay licensing fees). Also, some BluRays only support DTS.

cant answer all of this but can say the sound quality is excellent  i use through HDMI on pc, xbox 360 and a BD player. am sure wii would work great also, you would be pleased with this system.
