I use my mouse left handed, Can I move the mousepad to left?

No, the board is a solid unit. Even though its listed as modular, the only things you can swap are the wrist rests, the lap cushions and the mouse pad its self. But so far roccat hasn't released any other parts for it so it's more like a project lap board for people with 3D printers

Can you use any mouse with this? Or do I have to buy theirs?

I use a logitech mouse with mine. There are two USB ports in the lapboard for your other peripherals. The lapboard does not come with a mouse of it's own, only the keyboard.

linux compatible?  Or does it require special windows-only drivers?  I could care less about most of the additional features.  I just want a keyboard/mouse combo I can use from my couch that isn't a piece of crap.

As far as hardware compatibility, it runs off of USB, so should work fine. I'm not sure if the Swarm software is Linux compatible though, but Roccats website should tell you.

Where can you get additional mouse pads for this?  Id prefer a fabric pad as oppose to hard plastic.

i would just find the size that is close it can be removed and one can go in its place

Where can i buy extension cord for the keyboard?  USB 2.0 extensions did not work.

mine did.. used a Logitech extension that comes with wireless headsets
