4GLTE Unlocked sounds like it's compatible with Verizon. Is that right?

Unfortunately this particular phone is an AT&T version that will not work with Verizon. This isn't because the phone is locked out through software means. Every phone has a receiver that takes specific bands of cell frequencies. Unfortunately, AT&T is unique in using a frequency that is not common in the U.S. (it's more commonly used in Europe or elsewhere in the world). Verizon networks use a different frequency, so the hardware in this phone is not compatible with Verizon frequencies. I bought this same phone hoping to use it with my Verizon plan, but this is the issue that I ran into. Hope that helps!

will this phone work with straight talk?

Yes. This is an unlocked AT&T phone. I'm using it fine on T-mobile. So it will work on straight talk according to their site

So, I'm really interested in this phone. And, I see a question about other carriers since the phone comes unlocked. I just want to make sure this phone will be compatible with T-mobile. Which variant of the S7 is this model?

AT&T. Per T-Mobile who I have, this model is most compatible with AT&T and T-Mobile only (they use some of the same cell towers).
