Question 1

Is there a visual indicator when the machine is powered on? I see a little LED on the front of the case, but I'm curious if that is always on when the machine is on or just lights up when you press the power button.

Accepted Answer

The LED is bright blue and remains lit when the power is on.  When the PC is in sleep mode the LED blinks.  There is also a second orange LED to monitor internal hdd activity, which can be seen through the same led window when the case is closed.  I would recommend this case, though it may be useful to note that it does not include an IR receiver.

Question 2

What is the length available for optical drive and power supply?

For the optical drive, there is no problem fitting a standard size drive in. I used the small form factor PSU they recommended. I believe a standard power supply would have fit, but the small form factor just gives you so much more room to work with that I think it was completely worth it. This is a pretty sweet case by the way...

Question 3

What CPU Fan/Heatsinks are you using in this case and what do you recommend that will cool nice and will also fit?

using a 3ghz core 2 duo, thermaltake heatsink and fan. don't remember the model but it's sits very tall. I use this machine primarily with win7 and xbmc on main tv. I really like this case. everything fits very snug and cooling has never been a problem. hope that helps.

Can you install a 120MM Liquid Cooling setup in this case?

You cannot install it INSIDE the case, but you could always mount the cooler externally. The entire case is only 105mm high.  The fan mount points are for 80mm fans... you do the math.

Question 5

How is noise/cooling with two 3.5" drives mounted?  Or has anyone "fully loaded" the case?  two 3.5" drives + one 2.5" drive + low-profile gpu + micro ATX motherboard

I have had this case for a little over a year. It is fairly loaded I would say, no spinning hard drives though, only SSDs. The only noise I get at all is from the CPU cooler. Cooling isn't a problem due to all the ventilation holes, but do your homework and invest in a low profile CPU cooler if you don't want to hear it. Other than that it's a great little case, perfect for a HTPC or conference room pc.

Question 6

Whats the maximum GPU length this case will support? The card I want to put in here is the Gigabyte 970 Windforce which is little under 12" or 305 mm

The distance from the add-on card slot frame edge (the inside of the box) to the closest point of the metal frame (connected to the cross brace bar) is 12-1/4". That frame is the same height as the frame lip on the back edge that the cross bar attaches to, note it is higher than the connection point of the add-on card.  If your card does not exceed the low-profile height and can somehow fit under that (this would be an insertion contortion to be sure), the interior length extend further to nearly 12-13/16".  It appears your 12" card should fit with a little room to spare length-wise.

The cross bar passes over the slot area making the maximum height (with it installed) 2-3/4" of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd slots, as measured off the surface of my motherboard.

Question 7

Has anyone else had difficulty installing 2.5" drives or is it just me? Getting my SSD to mount properly was difficult but getting a second mass storage drive from my old laptop was a challenge in and of itself.

I mounted mine to the top side of the 5.25 frame.  I put a second SSD next to it and it just stays there.  SSD have no moving parts and I used a locking SATA cable.  I don't play frisbee with my case, so I'm not worried about the drive moving around.

will this work with this case and I wouldn't have to do any modifications to the cases to make it fit?

Has anyone been able to fit a low profile GPU in this?

The card dimensions are 6" x 3".

I'm not sure of the exact dimensions, but it does fit a Galaxy GTX 750 Ti Slim, which is a low profile card.

Question 10

Has anyone tried using a PCI riser with this case and is it compatible with a silverstone PCI riser? Would be pretty awesome if you could manage to get a full size GPU in there.

The slots on the back of the case would not be correct for a riser. you'd have to physically modify the case in order for that to work.
