Does the SATA connections work with CD-Drives or only HDDs? (i.e. - sata female to CD male)

First of all, this is only for the wider SAT power connection and not for the narrower SATA data connection. Yes, this connector will work on any SATA device, it's standard. It will supply power to any standard SATA HDD or CD/DVD drive with any desktop system. Also note, there is a completely different tiny sort-of-non-standard micro-SATA notebook connector and this adapter probably won't work with some 2 1/2" notebook drives.
