Can this be used to power a SSD?

Hi Michael, I asked the original question. I double checked my Dell desktop. My original Seagate HDD is powered by what appears to be this exact adapter. Since I want to run a SDD and a HDD I'm pretty sure I need this adapter to fit into the empty 6 pin slot labeled "SATA PWR" on my motherboard. Btw, I'm installing a Samsung 860 EVO. It needs the male SATA connection. Any thoughts?

Is this cable safe to plug directly into my modular PSU? I've never had to buy cables going directly into a PSU before

Depends on your meaning of "directly into my module PSU", many can only have plugs go in one way and I doubt the SATA plugs would plug in directly. If you mean plugging the SATA plugs into the cables that come with the PSU, then yes it should be fine.
