Thermaltake's V9 is a solid, elegant case that combines style, function and performance. Part of the V9 series of mid-tower cases, it has plenty of room for expansion and tons of potential for modders. It holds up to four external 5.25" drives, two external 3.5" and five internal 3.5" drives – easily installed without tools.
Install up to 7 expansion cards as well – again without tools. Most standard ATX boards will install effortlessly thanks to standoffs built into the motherboard tray. The entire case is cooled by a pair of silent, blue LED 120mm fans which draw air through the metal grille front bezel and out through the rear of the case. Plus, huge dual 230mm fans are installed on the side panel and top to provide increased air flow.
A pair of easily-accessible USB 2.0 ports are located at the top of the front plate, along with HD audio input and output jacks. If additional cooling is needed, the case can also take a liquid cooling system.
Supreme Expandability with 11 Drive BaysFeaturing four 5.25" external drive bays, and seven 3.5" drive bays (two external and five internal), the Thermaltake V9 Black Edition provides supreme expandability.
Efficient VentilationThe Thermaltake Spedo VI90001N2Z features two oversized 230mm fans and two 120mm fans for efficient ventilation and effective system cooling.
Tool-free InstallationThe tool-free design ensures quick installation and upgrade for expansion cards, 5.25" and 3.5" devices to save your time. Start enjoying computing rapidly!
Convenient Top I/O PanelThe convenient top I/O panel enables easy access to two USB 2.0 ports, one IEEE 1394 port, one eSATA port and two audio ports.
Pros: Nice Case, Good wire management, Bottom mount PSU placement, plenty of fans, plenty of dust filters, well designed, is quieter and cooler than the Lian Li case it replaced,
Cons: No removable motherboard tray, had to make a modification to get my Thermaltake Cupholder to work with this case. (Yes an actual cup holder), no window to appreciate the black powdercoated interior.
Overall Review: The toolless case design works perfectly with drives, but things like my cup holder that have a mounting style similar to a front panel thermometer because there are no proper screw mounts on the back side of the case. Oherwise I have to disagree with the comments saying that the toolless mounting system needs reinforcement from the available screw mounting my drives are firmly planted by the screwless mounting system. The mounting system may feel cheapish before you have a drive in it, but honestly once your drive is mounted it's not going anywhere. Despite the elaboration on the negative couple minor negative points I still don't think it's worth deducting an egg as I'm actually more happy with this case than I was with my older Lian Li case. May post a video review in the near future.
