It works with Devices that have USB 3.0 or higher. If your device is 2.0 or less don't buy, it won't work.

Late answer: I have been using this docking station with a Surface 3 running Win 10 Pro for several months.  The latter only has one USB port (3.0), and connects fine with the docking station.  At this time, I only have one external monitor, but will be connecting another one in a few months.  So far, no problems.  (I have used this docking station with a Dell laptop--again, Windows 10  -- for 6 months before that.  The Dell had to go back for warranty service for other issues and was replaced by the Surface.)

Question 5

Do you have to use the USB to connect your laptop?  Or may I use my router to the ethernet port on this device and accomplish the same thing? Would a USB wifi adapter plugged into this device allow me to connect my laptop as well and accomplish the same?

This device is intended to act as a docking station, when properly setup, you connect power and the one USB cable to your laptop, and that is it.  Two connections to unplug and you can take your laptop remote.  With the two connections plugged in you can have all your other connections plugged into this and use monitors, other devices etc.  You cannot connect wirelessly to this device to my knowledge.

Hello Wavlink users. If I connect a USB wifi adapter to this unit and an hdmi cable from this unit to my smart tv, will it allow me to display/watch (data, steamed video, etc.) sent from my wifi connected laptop?

If you connect a wifi adapter to this unit via USB you are replacing/duplicating  your laptop wifi which is built in. The video output should be fine, but is displayed based on what is on your laptop, not just controlled like with YouTube and miracast controls from your android phone. While some TVs do use the HDMI connection for data besides audio video, it is not really common on most home use TVs.

Will this device support 3 monitors? (laptop, and 2 monitors) all independently.  No expand, clone or mirror?

Yes works perfectly with 3 Monitors. I am currently using it with a Laptop and 2 monitors. I'm not 100% sure what you man by "No expand, clone or mirror?" but it works as mirroring 3 monitors or extending to 3 independent monitors.

Can the drivers install without the CD? My computer does not have an optical drive. Thank you!

I didn't have to apply any drivers.   I assume that they get loaded when plugging in device and drivers found thru the internet.  Find someone with an optical drive and copy them to a USB thumb drive.
