While this is a good drive, why not try a SATA or an m.w SSD.  The performance increase is incredible and SATA SSD's are crazy cheap not.  Use this as a data drive with an SSD and you'll never want to go back.

I have an old G1 Assassin Mobo, it specifies "High speed SATA6Gbps storage interface with RAID". Is this compatible with this HDD???

The G1 Asssisn motherboard supports SATA revision 3, which does support 6 Ggbps data transfer rates, and should therefore be compatible with this HDD. I would recommend updating the bios and firmware to the latest revision.

I will recommend to upgrade to SSD drive that will be you best bet and if you can go with NVMe drive that will be best

Speaking very generically, my understanding is that if you have applications that require lots of data transfer back and forth the larger cache is preferable.   An example of an application that requires lots of data transfer back and forth would be a music sample library.  Hope that helps.

I just put the 4TB model into my system, and it's not letting me initialize it in the CM panel. "The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error."
