will this drive work for a replacement in my hp probook4530s?
also, will I have to buy a new os??

Sure it will work with the HP laptop.  This recertified WD new-model drive works and looks brand new.  It is the quietest hard drive in the market and uses least power. video recording is blue the best for dvr's cameras,surveillance.?

Hi I use mine with Vista; along with it I have my uniden wireless 
 surveillance monitor plugged into a usb onto my laptop. (my cameras are wireless connected outside my house.
 It hold plenty of video; I keep my cameras on record during movement for 15 sec. I get a get quite a bit of video but the HD has room for them. (I do delete useless ones).

I've had it over a year and still working great. Quiet fast plenty of room for everything. Yes I use my laptop for everything.

I think WD Black are supposed to be WDs best HDs. But personally, I am very happy with the WD blue I got.

Hi1, you would be better off getting you an external storage device than a laptop hard drive, but if you're determine to use this hard drive get you a docking station a 3 1/2" /2 1/2" SATA  to USB hard drive docking station. Dave

I CAN'T GIT A HARD EXTERNAL DRIVE TO WORK FOR DIRECTV
LIKE IT'S SUPPOSED TO.
I THINK IT MAY BE THE USB 3 DIRECTV SAID IT SHOULD WORK
BUT I THINK IT NEEDS TO BE USB 2 TO SATA. ?

a sata 3 hard drive is backward compatible and should work on sata 2 it wont perform as well but will work
