Arrived in OEM packaging. It's secured inside cardboard box with sticker of the model number on it. Hard Drive works as expected.

Will this drive work with older SATA 3.0Gb controllers?

Yes, it should.  You will not get the full 6 Gb/s transfer rate, of course.  Having said this, with a spinning hard drive, 6 Gb/s is a theoretical maximum at best, even with a SATA connection that is capable of this speed.  Actually reaching this speed is not particularly likely.

Yes, it is compatible.  The rocketstar supports both 3.5" and 2.5" SATA drives. This drive works perfectly in either rocketstar bay.

Has anyone tried using the ZFS file system on this shingled (SMR) drive? Is it as bad as the press reports say?

I have this WD hard drive, but I'm using the NTFS format system.  I am unfamiliar with ZFS file system.  But, this drive is working outstanding for me with Microsoft's NTFS.
