Is this a new unit or reconditioned?

Was a new unit. Color is decent - unless you are a professional printer. But otherwise sufficient for home - general - regular office - shared network printing.

Are you able to load letter size paper and legal size paper in this printer? -two trays of paper?

The printer comes with a single paper tray capable of holding letter OR legal size paper. The manual feed door can also be used to feed legal size paper, but your best approach would be to purchase the add-on lower tray unit (Brother LT320CL), which would permit both letter and legal paper reserves at the same time.

Does this printer have booklet capabilities ?? (4 pages on 1 sheet)

Yes, it does. I have used it in two fashions: - print one side and then feed the paper back in to print the other side - let the printer print both sides at once using duplexing great printer...especially for the price.

Is this Mac compatible (10.10.4)?

I use Windows but when I installed the drivers it did show that the printer is compatible with a Mac. The drivers listed included support for OS X 10.10 but I could not comment on how well they work.

Does the printer ship with any toner cartridges included?

Still no answer to this question. Would really like to know if it ships with toner or do I need to purchase it?

What are the physical dimensions of the box?

16.1 x 19.1 x 12.3 in for the device itself. Box it came in is bigger by 10-15%

Would this printer be compatible with the Second printing tray from another Brother unit?

The only second tray that I am aware of for this printer is the Brother LT320CL. If it is not that model, likely would not work but I would recommend checking the Brother web site for the tray you have.
