Eggxpert Review
Pros: - The Bytecc 5.25" drive bay converter takes a 3.5" drive and allows it to fit into a 5.25" drive bay. I was able to fit the WD Black HDD in it with two screw mounts, and it held it securely with the provided bag of screws. - There are a couple of screw threads in the sides of the bay, letting the bay to align with most cases' drive bays; however, not all apparently (see cons). - The construction isn't too bad, and it hasn't created any unnecessary vibration in the case or anything of the sort. - Took my 3.5" WD HDD and made it fit into a 5.25" bay; although not without some caveats.
Cons: - I'm warning you that--although you may have no problems and the bay might align perfectly in your case--it didn't in mine (Corsair Carbide 540). I had to screw into the bay and thread my own screw holes for a proper alignment, and even then, the bay wasn't perfectly secure. I don't believe I'm the only one who ran into this problem, considering there aren't a ton of screw threads in the bay's side, as there should be, for we all have different cases and screw alignments.
Overall Review: - Overall, it does the job, and for most people it probably won't require any modification. With that said, it isn't too difficult of course to add another screw hole into it, but it does weaken the frame. I can say that buying this is somewhat of a gamble, in hopes that it aligns properly, but it's understandably difficult for a product to fit into ALL the cases on the market.
