8.2 Megapixel CMOS SensorCanon's large-area CMOS (complementary metal oxide semiconductor) sensor provides the most-in-class pixels for images with exceptional clarity and tonal range. With the same 3:2 ratio as film cameras, the APS-C size sensor (22.5 x 15.0mm) enables an effective viewing angle of 1.6x the normal EF Lens focal length. The EOS 30D's extensive ISO range (from 100 to 1600, plus ISO 3200 in extended mode) is selectable in 1/3-stop increments.
DIGIC II Image ProcessorThe Canon digital SLR-specific DIGIC II Image Processor enhances every aspect of image capture for images of exceptional quality. The onboard DIGIC II Image Processor ensures natural color reproduction, precise white balance in any lighting situation and unparalleled clarity. Consuming less energy, DIGIC II's sophisticated signal processing algorithms work at greater speeds. The entire processing chip - not just the software that drives it - is dedicated for a digital still camera.
2.5 inch Large LCDThe EOS 30D has a brilliant 2.5 inch LCD monitor with approximately 230,000 pixels. Adopted from Canon's professional EOS SLRs, the LCD provides more information and greater viewing angles (170°) than many conventional units. The full-featured shot information screen can display the AF frame in use with an RGB histogram feature.
PictBridge SupportThe EOS 30D makes photograph printing easier than ever. Simply connect your EOS 30D to any PictBridge-compatible printer, select your image and print settings, and press the Direct Print button to start printing.
