The Canon Rebel XTI Silver, with the EF-S 18-55 mm Lens is a great lightweight, easy to use camera kit. It is loaded with highly useful features to make your photography crisp, clear and beautiful! This camera is loaded with the 10.1 Megapixel Canon CMOS sensor and a DIGIC II image processor, and a wide area 9 point Autofocus system. The motor will shoot a fast 3 frames a second, with 27 frame bursts. There is an EOS Integrated Cleaning System with a self-cleaning sensor unit.
The lens included with the body is the EF-S 18-55 mm, with a closest focusing distance at .28m. There is a 2.5 LCD monitor to help frame the action, and your JPEG images can be stored on a CF type I and II card. Should you need even more photo-power, this body is compatible with over 60 EF and EF-S lenses and a wide range of EOS systems. This sleek, easy to use camera is a very intelligent choice, indeed.
10.1 Megapixel APS-C Size CMOS SensorThe EOS Digital Rebel XTi features Canon's 10.1 megapixel CMOS sensor with the most-in-class pixels for images of exceptional clarity and tonal range. The APS-C size sensor (22.2 x 14.8mm) has the same 3:2 ratio as film cameras for an effective viewing angle of 1.6x the normal EF Lens focal length. With an effective pixel resolution of 3,904 x 2,598, the EOS Digital Rebel XTi offers superb detail and clarity even in poster-sized prints.
DIGIC II Image ProcessorThe EOS Digital Rebel XTi's sensor is driven by the DIGIC II Image Processor which is enhanced across the board with improvements in speed and image quality. Information captured by the sensor is processed and assembled into images of exceptional clarity and resolution. Consuming very little energy, DIGIC II works with the sensor to ensure natural colors, accurate white balance and speedy write times.
Integrated Self Cleaning Sensor UnitThe Digital Rebel XTi features an all-new, Canon-designed Self Cleaning Sensor Unit to combat stray dust that enters the camera and adheres to the image sensor during a lens change. The low pass filter self-cleans automatically with ultrasonic vibrations, removing dust from the sensor assembly. Dust that has been missed by the integrated Self Cleaning Sensor Unit can be erased with software included in Digital Photo Professional (DPP) Version 2.2. This added software option ensures the cleanest possible image, perfect for printing or archiving.
2.5-inch LCD Monitor with Display Off SensorThe new Rebel XTi 2.5-inch LCD monitor (230,000 pixels) with wide viewing angles of 160° makes all framing, reviewing and menu work a snap. With the newly developed Display Off Sensor, the Digital Rebel XTi's external display turns off automatically when composing images to prevent the LCD monitor's brightness from disturbing the photographer's eye while looking through the viewfinder.
"Picture Style" SettingsWith the EOS Digital Rebel XTi and Picture Style technology, photographers can recreate characteristics of their favorite films. Color, saturation, sharpness and contrast settings create noticeable variation in the saved image. In addition to six preset Picture Styles (Standard, Portrait, Landscape, Neutral, Faithful and Monochrome), users can create three additional settings for their particular photographic style.
Print/Share ButtonPrinting and uploading to a computer is incredibly simple with the Digital Rebel XTi's Print/Share button. Connect the Digital Rebel XTi to a computer via the fast USB 2.0 port and transfer the photographs in the camera’s memory to folders on the computer.
