I have a PIXMA MG3220, is this cartridge compatible? and what about my color cartridge, which one should I be using.?  I presume the suffixes xl and xxl refer to the quantity of prints one gets from the cartridge, is that correct?

Per the Canon web site, the following cartridges can be used in the MG3220.

PG-240 
Black Cartridge

PG-240XL 
(Extra Large) Black Cartridge

PG-240XXL 
(Double Extra Large) Black Cartridge

The XL and XXL refers to the amount of ink in the cartridge. XL has more ink than the standard cartridge and XXL has more ink than the XL. It makes no reference to quantity of prints, however, with more ink the XL and XXL cartridges will last longer than the standard cartridge.
