why do they say its for Server only ? Won't it work in a desktop ? My Mbboard is a ASUS M5A97

Back when I bought this, I didn't know any better and it did not say "For Server Only." I still have a screen shot of the product so it's nice to see that they changed this. I'm not too sure on the technical aspect of it, but a desktop will not recognize these.
