What is the volume of this syringe?

I'm not sure what the actual volume of the syringe is (the box is long thrown away) but I've used mine once and I have enough thermal compound for 3 or 4 more uses

instructions on using template not clear. is the central portion of the plastic to be removed before applying the paste or does it stay on the copper base?

You need to remove the center portion of the plastic template. As you spread the thermal compound it should fill in this area to make a square on the CPU when you lift off the template.
