Cooler Master Real Power Pro RS-850-EMBAD1-US 850W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: i guess the only pro i can say is that it has TONS of connections of things and nice long wires.

Cons: had the same cold boot problem as others. except without the ability to boot at all. had gotten one and RMA'd it, now its time for a refund. on the coolermaster forums, one of the employees said they found a problem with the +3v rails where they would drop to 2v at bootup and cause the pc to not boot, they also said newer PSUs would have a solution. my guess is that newegg's supply of them is still the older ones.

Overall Review: this power supply is BIG, more then an inch longer then standard power supplies. it has tons of wires and they are long. i even had some trouble getting it in my server tower case. so i wouldn't recommend anybody with a mid tower to get this.

Pros: With six 12V rails, this PSU powers my 2 8800GTX in SLI fantastically. The PSU is silent in 2D mode and very quiet in 3D mode. It is also a standard size PSU so will fit in all ATX cases. The unit is very nice looking, giving it a very high quality look.

Cons: No separate on/off switch on the back of the PSU.

Overall Review: I'm very happy with this PSU. I replaced a PC P&C first generation 1KW that only had 2 PCIE connectors and was pretty loud, I also couldn't get it stable with 8800GTX SLI using the adapters for the other connectors. I'm glad it wasn't stable though, because 2 8800GTX's with that PSU made it extremely loud at all times, even in 2D mode. With the cooler master, I can hear my CPU fan spin up, my hard drive work, etc, this PSU is very quiet and very stable. Also, there is no buzzing or other wierd noises from the PSU. The one I got from Newegg.com was marked Rev 2. The PSU comes in a very nice box with very good foam padding to protect it during shipping. This is good since Newegg.com just puts it in a box with peanut foam pieces.

Pros: Solid power for power hungy systems. I'm running (2) 8800GTXs with no problem.

Cons: None so far.

Overall Review: If you need power, this is the power supply for you.

Pros: It will power just about anything you can throw at it. There are a ton of connectors for anything you want.

Cons: Perhaps too many connectors? Not really a con, but the excess ones take up my bottom two 3.5" slots in my Antec 900, I can't think of where else to put them. (Luckily I only need one HD now) The only real con is the rebate.

Overall Review: I bought this in combo with Antec 900 case, sent in my rebate ($40 I think it was). It's been at least 6 months, the rebate was a no show. Coolermaster's "rebate tracker" website looks(ed?) like it could have been better done by an intoxicated chimp. Phone number for support lead to them claiming it was probably "lost in the mail". Yeah. Right. That was the only let down. If you can live without a rebate (there is none now), this thing rocks.

Pros: Runs a dual XFX 8800GTX under heavy load with no problem. Cables are nice and rounded to increase air flow. Plenty of connections. Has 6 of the 12V rails so can actually power the two 8800's that need two rails apiece. Nice look.

Cons: Manual doesn't explain anything about what the auto-shutdown protection does, what the criteria is, or what the lights' colors mean. Cooler master Website has nothing either.

Overall Review: One of the two that I bought was defective and would auto-shutdown when playing a game. Thought it was an overheating issue with system at first. Took 4 days and a lot of Aspirin but I finally switched out the psu with the other one I had bought. Now it runs like a champ. Just watch out for this problem.

Pros: Shiny finish and the wrapping on the cables is very good quality (see cons). Each cable was clearly labeled and composed of thick wiring. Came with a thick power cord and CoolerMaster bottle opener (worked great, btw). That's where the good ended for me.

Cons: I can confirm the problems experienced by Serinanth & TheMaster. I bought this along with an Asus Striker Extreme and two Asus EN8800GTX video cards. After about 20 seconds or so in a game using SLI, the power would kick off. I went along fine using one card for a while, until the power kicked off again without warning. After that, the system would not POST. I tried a different power supply (Thermaltake 850w) and system still did not POST. Long story short: this PSU FRIED my Striker Extreme and 8800 GTX. All 3 were RMA'd. The cable wrapping is good quality, but my only beef, when it was installed, was that I had to twist the SATA power cables and the wrapping made it very hard to do.

Overall Review: Replaced this PSU with a PC Power & Cooling TruboCool 1000w (I was NOT going to mess around with power again!). The PCP&C works great with my replacement mobo & 8800GTX. Unfortunately, I bought the CM PSU before TheMaster posted his review.

Pros: great product with awsome productivity. Plus, a very cool look with black banding around cables.

Cons: none.

Overall Review: it would be nice if the company had cpu 8pin to 8pin extention.

Pros: All the power and connections you could need, at least for the next few years. Much, much quieter than my old PS.

Cons: None

Overall Review: Be ready, unless you have a quad-sli today with 8 hard drives, you are going to have some extra cabling to tuck away. This PS with modular cabling would rock
