CM Storm Havoc - High Performance 8200 DPI Laser Gaming Mouse with Extra Durable Omron Microswitches

Pros: First impressions - Very VERY nice feel to it. Nice rubbery soft feel is like holding a cloud. That doesn't slip. - Sensor is actually pretty decent. I've had a lot of issues with different mice in the way they track seems blocky but not this one - The special omron switches seem pretty decent. Nice solid clicky feel to them. - LEDs are not too bright nor too many of them. - Rubber grip! dunno about right side though. - Not too heavy not to light. - Scroll wheel is awesome.

Cons: Scroll click is not awesome. It takes way too much force to click. Though the rest of the mouse is way better than expected i'll just deal with that gladly. sensor on/off macro in the software. seriously, who needs that? Especially on by default to an easy to hit button!

Overall Review: if only the dpi setting led indicators changed color with the color of the rest of the leds that would be cool. Having white led's with some blue not cool. software needed to be downloaded in order to take control of the mouse more. I didn't seem to recall it saying there was even software let alone give us a disk for it. I just sorta googled it at first to make sure.

Pros: Very good build quality. Materials used to make the mouse is top notch. Good laser sensor, excellent scroll wheel and mouse buttons. Nice touch to the rubberized thumb grip.

Cons: Users with large hands beware. Although this is advertised as a palm grip mouse, the curvature and indentation of the mouse was designed for small people or claw grips in mind. As an owner of several gaming mice, I must say that for people with large hands, prolong usage of this causes fatigue in my hand muscles (The ones that causes carpal tunnel syndrome) Weird plastic strip on the right side of the mouse could have been replaced with the same rubberized grip as the thumb for consistency. Comfort and control would improve with that.

Overall Review: Excellent build quality but not suitable for people with large hands and who prefer a palm grip. Does not perform as advertised on CM main website.

Pros: Decent functionality (when it works) and customization. Software easy enough to understand.

Cons: A bit large. Side buttons somewhat fiddly to reach with thumb. Worst bit, though: This mouse stopped working within 2 months of purchase, which is a new low for me in terms of products that initially worked fine out of the box. No, I didn't manhandle or mistreat the thing, or spill anything on it, or misuse it in any way. Made in China.

Pros: Fits on my hand Perfectly. The downloadable software has everything you need to customize how the mouse operates on your OS if desired. All the lights inside are somewhat customizable as well, Pretty cool breathe option, making the light pulse. You can create Macros assign rapid fire to a button. You can change mouse sensitivity & fine tune the X & Y axis speeds. Create multiple profiles that save to the mouse. You can do a lot with this mouse. Im an on and off gamer that does a lot of computer art professionally. This mouse has a good Comfortable feel to it. Very happy I chose it. I'm very very picky when it comes to mouses. This was a shot in the dark and im glad i did it. ~It just looks sick. Ive just been sitting here staring at it for like an hour.

Overall Review: This mouse is a little light. Just saying...Its light if your used to a heavier mouse. Just a little getting used to required.

Pros: - very precise - Solid construction, braided cable, good materials - Super-tweakable - on-board profile storage - Uber-smooth glide on mousepads - Driver software is slick and no conflicts so far - LED lighting bling!

Cons: - Needs the driver software installed to work well, otherwise has momentary hangs - Cannot toggle the mouse wheel detents on-off (like you can with the G500) - No weighting system - LED lighting "only" has 7 pre-defined colors, and no support for user-definable colors...

Overall Review: This is very good and smooth mouse, once you've installed the driver software, which seems a real must as the mouse would freeze for 5 seconds every 15 seconds or so without it. The driver does seem compatible with the Logitech profiler software (no conflicts, co-exists well). This mouse fits my large-ish hand well; I have an older Logitech G500 mouse and this mouse feels a bit wider, shorter in length and slightly taller. It does not have any weight-adjustability like the G500, but the Havoc is fairly light and feels just about right to me regardless so it's not an issue. This mouse has three VERY large sliding surfaces, which are far larger than any of the Logitech mice I have (G500, G700, G9x) or any other mouse I've ever used for that matter, and I believe these help it glide better on my SteelSeries ThicknHeavy pad that any other mice I've tried. The mouse wheel has a more positive 'detent' than the G500 (which always felt a bit soft to me). This mouse does not have the pushbutton to toggle the mouse wheel between detent-mode and free-wheeling mode like the G500 has, though. I do like the LED lighting (seven colors to choose from) but no support for user-defined colors. The CM Storm driver software has a ton of tweaks to choose from, so this mouse is *highly* tune-able to suit your taste and speed. The macro capability exceeds my needs but is nice to have, too... Overall, an excellent mouse at the price. I'm glad I snagged one. :-)

Overall Review: I upgraded to this mouse from a CM Inferno I had for 2.5 years. Compared to the Inferno, it is a little lighter, wider, and shorter. Overall the mouse is noticeably more ergonomic than the Inferno, and the buttons press lighter and quieter. The software is also easier to understand and use than previous CM Storm software. Kind of the same size and feel to the Corsair mice. I love how the bottom of this mouse is mostly surface plastic, (makes it very slippy on hard surfaces, great for cloth pads) and the matte rubber coating on the top is absolutely great to handle. Ribbed rubber on the left side is great for grip, but the plastic strip on the right should have been all matte rubber. Mouse seems to be built really well, not making any creaking or cracking noises when roughed up. Cord seems a tad shorter than most mice, and is braided. The DPI setting is also phenomenal, allowing you to fine tune to your liking, all the way up to 8200 dpi. I was using 4000 dpi constantly on the Inferno, but now seem to be in the 4800-5400 range, and my CS:GO game has seen some improvement. Overall I think this is a great mouse for a great price, and is perfect for those with averaged sized hands, looking for a extremely customizable and ergonomic solution.

Pros: 1. Solid build quality - button clicks are solid, overall feel is solid 2. Good weight - About the same as a G500 with 3x 4.5g and 3x 1.7g weights in it, though non adjustable 3. Excellent sensor and liftoff distance - very smooth and accurate tracking, liftoff distance a hair better than a G500 in my opinion 4. Soft touch rubber grip - Great match to my CM Trigger wrist rest, feels great 5. Solid large scroll wheel - also rubber coated, very solid, no scrolling while trying to click 6. Very smooth very large feet - should take a good long time to wear out, very smooth on my XFX Warpad

Cons: 1. Software - I wish they had a DPI shift option for the thumb buttons, takes a while to load, but does allow you to store the profile on the mouse's memory so you don't need it to start with Windows 2. Wide, very wide - a little taller and shorter than a G500 but much wider, probably just have to get use to the size 3. Plastic strip on the left side - really? Why would they not just coat the whole dang thing in the beautiful rubber coating? seems out of place, but doesn't detract from performance in my opinion

Overall Review: Overall an excellent gaming mouse. It offers great tracking with a comfortable grip, and while the software isn't perfect, it's still good enough. My G500 is getting a bit worn out so I decided to try something different and I'm pleasently surprised, G500 is now my mouse at the office.

Pros: Great when it works...

Cons: Laser stopped working right before the one year mark of ownership. Not a very useful mouse if the tracking isn't functional... ;) I guess it can still serve as a night lamp.

Overall Review: I'll give Cooler Master's support a shot and see how it goes.
