I did not use the memory i bought for that purpose, but, Newegg has a really great memory finder tool that has a ton of products in it. I use it all the time to find the maximum memory needed for a laptop. Also you could get on the manufactures website and look up the upgrade options and that should give you an option. Good Luck!

Yes it is. It can only support 2GB of memory. If you have 1GB currently installed and they are 2x512MB sticks then you'll have to remove 1 to account for the new stick, giving you 1.5GB.
