Does it work with ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z motherboard?

Oh Yes.  I haven't had any difficulties with this product.  It does install at it's SPD value of 1333ghz, but I have used the XMP profile and it works fine.  It needs some fine tuning with the voltage, but it can run at 2400ghz without a problem.

Trying to get this exact memory kit 
Corsair,  CMD32GX3M4A2400C10 
32GB (4 x 8GB), SDRAM DDR3 2400, 
that I already bought and have installed 
to work in my system, with mobo & CPU, 
ASRock 990FX Extreme9, & AMD FX-9590.

Already installed, but I have not been able to get the 
memory to work above DDR3 1333 reliably, yes, I have 
tuning software and have also tried in the UEFI BIOS, but
that does not mean I know for sure what settings to use, 
also trying to do them (yes, I have) they do not "take" anyway.

If I try to use some settings then the PC does not work at all.

The settings that wind up allowing me to use the PC at all, 
are ones with a slower speed than I should have to use (1333).

I never overclocked memory before, 
and my attempt now is not working.

I am using this exact system now, but my RAM 
is not running at 2400 or 2133 or 1866 or 1600.

I am using this RAM at only DDR3 1333, not great.

I previously had an AMD system with the FX-8350 CPU 
running 32 GB of DDR3 1600 prior to my recent upgrade.

Yes, I know how to get into the UEFI BIOS, and did so.

ASRock eXtreme Tuner does not help me much at all.

AMD OverDrive also is not helpful to me at all either.

I know where in the ASRock UEFI BIOS is supposed 
to be for making these settings, but no luck yet for me.

I got this because I found information that says that 
both of the more recent 220W CPU's from AMD, the 
AMD FX-9370 and AMD FX-9590 CPU's both have a 
memory controller speed of 2400 MHz which led me 
to believe that it is possible to use DDR3 2400 RAM, 
but, now after trying, and it not working, I am not sure.

The CPU NB speed (Not the chipset NB) 
and therefore the memory controller speed, 
is supposedly one of the biggest factors determining 
what speeds of memory can be used on a PC system.

I'm running this memory on an asus rampage iv extreme, with an intel processor, but you have run in to the general problem that I have had with these sticks.... getting them to run at 2400 MHz. I have found I have to bump up the voltage a decent amount, and the highest I have gotten them to run 24/7 stable is 2133 MHz. In the BIOS you should be able to adjust the voltage to your ram slots independently of cranking the voltage up on anything else. I wasn't happy with the voltage I had to use to run them at 2400 MHz, so I dropped down to 2133. I also have everything on custom liquid loops, except the ram, so I wasn't really worried about them generating too much heat to get rid of. I have them set at 1.700V for 2133 MHz. Hope that helps a little...

I haven't used it on a Crosshair V, but am using it on a Maximus VI Extreme and it runs with no problems. Not sure if that will help you but if it isn't on that list of tested memory you shouldn't have to worry too much about it not working with the board. Just make sure the speed is compatible.
