Two matched 2GB modules for use in high performance Intel and AMD systems NVIDIA Enhanced Performance Profiles (EPP) Support Dominator GT with rosso corsa accents Includes Airflow fan for increased cooling performance
Pros: Out of the box running at 1066MHz 5-4-4-12 2T in my old EVGA 780i at 1.8 volts (motherboard doesn't go any lower) without any futzing at all.
Looks cool and runs very, very cool. Motherboard and PSU happy.
It is DDR2 at very low voltage.
Cons: Corsair does not acknowledge these modules on their website or anywhere else for that matter. Just try to find Dominator GT DDR2 on the web.
Even questions regarding this in their forum go unanswered.
It's sold at a few places but there is no info or acknowledgment of it's existence.
Open white box (see below).
Overall Review: Arrived in an opened white box. Modules neatly packed in individual plain plastic clam shell with no marketing markings whatsoever. The modules do say Dominator GT DDR2 as pictured and does come with the Airflow cooler in matching red 2 fan motif.
Don't get me wrong I'm happy with these puppies...just don't understand what all the mystery is about?
Corsair? Any enlightening response much appreciated?
Pros: Nice heatsinks and it would actually look nice inside my computer case.
Cons: I was so excited when I received this Item yesterday. The moment I open the box, the description states otherwise. CMG4GX2M2A1066C5 XMS2-8500 2048MB 1066MHz 5-5-5-15 1.65V. To add insult to injury, its a DDR3 masquerading as a DDR2. Its suppose to have a 2.1V and a DDR2 printed on the ram not DDR3. I'm on the process of sending this item back to Newegg.
Good buy top quality DDR2 1066 Memory10/17/2009 10:56:16 PM
Pros: This is top bin picked TWIN2X4096-8500C5. This is from the same batch of ram I just listed but hand picked for being able to overclock better than the standard XMS2 DDR2 1066 sticks of ram. This is the stuff to use if your using an NVidia chipset and want to OC your RAM. Cool looking color scheme matches my System Mod colors
Cons: This looks to be the same top binned ram as the TWIN2X4096-8500C5DF. It just has a newer look and probably a better perfroming fan setup if corsair is still doing things the same. If your not into ocerclocking your ram but want good OOB performance than the TWIN2X4096-8500C5 would be a better buy for the money.
Overall Review: For me an AMD CPU with a Asus Motherboard that has an NVidia chipset with NVidia Graphic cards and Corsiar performance memory has always proven to be anextremly stable build for me.
