Pros: This memory is Corsair tested and confirmed compatible with AMD Phenom II systems. This RAM has run flawlessly for me overclocked to 1600 MHz. for months. I have recommended this specific part number Corsair RAM to other PC builders who have also found it to be 100% reliable and fast.
Cons: None.
Overall Review: Corsair is one of the few companies that actually tests every RAM module and speed grades it along with identifying which systems it will function on properly such as AMD Phenom II or Intel i5 or i7. Not all RAM works well on all systems so it's very useful to be able to purchase RAM that has been tested and confirmed compatible. This prevents a lot of PC headaches and disappointment.
Wrong specs. listed by Newegg.com6/21/2010 8:39:39 AM
Pros: Appears to be great RAM, I've used Crucial, Mushkin and Corsair and Corsair is the best of them. Always happy with their products. This review is for Newegg's tech. specs. on this item. I ordered these sticks for an AMD based HTPC system and these are listed as low voltage 1.5v DDR3 RAM.
Cons: The 2 eggs is for Newegg's stats. These are not low voltage 1.5v sticks! These arrived and I thought Newegg had sent the wrong sticks, but checked the model number and found that they are the correct sticks but they are 1.65v sticks like most others. They simply have errored and put the wrong specs.
Overall Review: Hopefully someone will update the specs. to the correct ones.
Pros: Fast ram, looks nice, will run @ 1600 mhz depending on your CPU.
Cons: Timings have to be set manually, otherwise SPD runs them at a loose CAS 9 @ 1333 mhz.
Overall Review: UPDATE: I couldn't get this ram to run @ 1600 mhz stable, Although it posted and ran fine for many hours.
The memory is not to blame, as Phenom II x4 965's IMC doesn't really like anything above 1333 Mhz. I heard x6 Phenoms have better luck @ 1600 Mhz. I realize I could have probably stabilized it with increased CPU NB voltage etc... I decided not to, since I heard many stories of PII X4's IMCs failing because of it. After a lot of tinkering, here are the timings I'm running with a Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P.
7-7-7-21-30 @ 1333 mhz. Don't bother with CAS 6 memory if you're running AMD Phenom II, the IMC can't handle it. Solid as a rock at these settings.
Pros: Runs 1600mhz stock on AM3 boards no problem.
Runs cool and looks slick.
Cons: none
Overall Review: Depending on your AMD chips IMC you will likely need to bump the cpu-nb voltage up a notch to run 1600mhz stable. This is due to the fact that the AMD IMC is tuned to run 1333mhz at stock. A slight voltage bump to cpu-nb does not add any measurable heat with a good cooler.
Excellelent memory for Phenon 210/15/2010 3:56:34 PM
Pros: Memory arrived today installed in my 1055t works great, have it presently overclocked 351 mhz, believe I could get a whole lot more from it. I ordered 2 more sticks for a total of 8gb, I am very happy with my purchase and Neweggs fast shipping.
Cons: none
Overall Review: I have been using Corsair memory over the years and it has never let me down.
