two part question -- first, is this ACTUALLY usable on the x99 platform? Here on Newegg, it says yes, but on Corsair's site, that's not the case. Second, is this a dual or quad channel kit? I can't seem to find mention of it anywhere, and on Corsair's site it's ambiguously listed under "Dual/Quad Channel", so I can't tell. Any feedback would be wonderful!

It is to spec, or over spec, for an x99 platform; I do not believe the official specs for the memory pipeline on that architecture go over 2400 dram clock, but most high end motherboards with that chipset will support 3200. Worst case you may need to underclock it, but you should be able to get support from Corsair if your ram is not working at its rated speed. (It's been many years since I've had RAM that was at or under the CPU's specified ram clock.)

Individual sticks of ram are not keyed to be a particular part of a DDR channel; if you have a dual-channel board, you can put two sticks in each of those channels, and it is very unlikely to matter which stick goes in which slot; likewise, if you have four channels, you can put each stick in its own channel, or buy two kits and fill all eight slots. Basically this only means that, since there are four individual sticks here, they may not work well if you have a tri-channel motherboard and chipset as you'll have channels unevenly populated.

I would like to build a Gigabyte Z390 Designare with this ram but I don't see it on the supported memory list.  Otherwise, it looks like it should work?

Is this mother board Alienware 0N4R4N and this Processor  i9-7980XE compatible with these rams? should I install them with the fan or it doesn't really matter because I have four slots each two on a side
