Incredible 9/26/2010 3:37:17 PM

Pros: This memory is absolutely beautiful. Flawless performance at specified timings and frequencies. And it IS worth every penny more than the comparable Corsair 8-8-8-24 standard Dominator. WEI rates 6GB of these psychos at 7.8 (7.9 max).

Cons: Nothing.

Overall Review: DDR3 1600 has been named the fastest gaming memory (Maximum PC) due to its low latency vs DDR3 2000. DDR3 1600 CL6 = DDR3 2000 CL9. In addition, most DDR3 1600 doesn't need additional cooling fans.
*Note to super-techies: stop setting your own timings and voltages. Especially the voltages. Leave as much to "auto" as possible and use XMP profiles which are standard on all performance boards.

Work as advertised 8/17/2010 3:28:37 AM

Pros: -They are low latency DDR3 Dimms that run at least at 1600mhz 7-7-7-20 2T at 1.65v stable
-Good heat spreader.
-Support XMP profile & JEDEC Info.
-They look cool out of the box
-It will make you look cool because the spec is beyond usual spec when you share on the internet.
-Low latency & 1.65v :)
-Don't require professional installation.

Cons: -The dimms are indeed twice higher in height than usual dimms, check on your motherboard to make sure it fit inside. Can be in the way of aftermarket CPU heatsink.
-They are black & once you place them inside the case & connected on the motherboard you forget them.
-There isn't much to brag about desktop memory.
-tRFC high at 128 on XMP profile.
-Those are performance dimms, indeed OC is very tempting. Will impact your though about electricity bill or may damage your computer due to greediness.
-Won't be set at 12800 CL7 alone, must go to bios & set XMP profile. It took me 15sec. :(

Overall Review: I'm using a DX58SO, I know this motherboard is incredible average & those dimms make my whole setup a bit more handsome than it should be for the moment.

XMP Info:
tCL: 7
tRCD: 7
tRP: 7
tRAS: 20
tWR: 12
tRFC: 128
tRRD: 6
tWTR: 6
tRTP: 6

Those memory are good for overclocking, though are overkill for gaming usage alone. The Core i7 at 3.2 already gap the 5870.

It is recommended to do memory test in case of bad sector with every new desktop memory. Stress test is your friend.

Reply to: Nice RAM, bad egg. 7/23/2010 6:03:56 AM

Pros: Lowest latency of all Corsair Dominator 6GB DDR3 RAM clocked at 1600mhz.

Cons: It is more expensive than weaker quality RAM, but this is no surprise. If it wasn't more expensive, it would never be in stock.

Overall Review: To the reviewer who seems to think that Newegg is raising its prices on this RAM and claims to have "High" technical knowledge: they aren't, and you don't. If you had purchased this RAM at Newegg you'd have a little blue "This user purchased this item from Newegg" tag before your review. You don't, and it isn't a surprise why.

Corsair makes *multiple* sets of 6GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM at 1600mhz. They vary both in latency and in model numbers (for example this model number is TR3X6G1600C7D and a cheaper set of 6GB Dominator RAM clocked at the same speeds with higher latency is TR3X6G1600C8D). This RAM in particular has the lowest latency numbers of all the 6GB Dominator RAM, so you should expect it to have higher prices. At the time of this review, it is the same price on the Egg as at a popular site named after a major South-American River. Buy it if you want the absolute best RAM currently available, or buy the higher latency if you want a good balance of price and performanc

It works LOL 4/13/2010 8:41:52 AM

Pros: Looks cool, and does what it says.
I just upgraded from 6GB to 12GB of RAM

Cons: None

Overall Review: I have an Asus Extreme II Rampage MoBo, and it seems to auto-detect this RAM as 1066Mhz, and I can't figure out why.

I can chage the BIOS manually to 1600Mhz and it runs fine.

Pros: Plug and Play

Cons: none

Overall Review: ASUS P6T Deluxe took them right out of the shoot... no issues. I actually am using them at very low latency with a mild oc.

Nice RAM, bad egg. 12/31/2009 9:09:36 AM

Pros: Very fast, reliable memory. Purchased a set last April for my new i7 build, and have nothing but love for these sticks. I have had absolutely NO problems with these. Smooth operators. Go Go Corsair!

Cons: $266?! I got these for $166 a year ago here. I wanted to pick up another set for my system, but I smell shenanigans.

Overall Review: The Egg seems to be trying to make a larger and larger margin... I love newegg, don't get me wrong, but lately, the other sites are cheaper on 80% of what I'm looking for. Sometimes, they're even above MSRP. Consider the X25-M. It used to be that you didn't even have to shop around. You just knew the egg had the best price. I think they're getting too large. It was a great era of great deals, but I think that era is coming to an end.

Zoooooom 12/22/2009 11:38:43 PM

Pros: Fast with low latency. Very oc-able. Runs at rated speeds and beyond. Very happy with purchase

Cons: The price; I'm glad I got mine back when they were only $180 bundled with the evga classified E760. Still worth it if you want quality RAM.

Overall Review: If you like large cpu heat sinks, such as the megahalem, keep in mind that the tall heat spreaders may limit your choices. For example, I was unable to use a 120 x 38 mm fan on the ram side of my megahalem (120 x 25 mm fan will fit with the EVGA E760)

Corsair Dominator 11/11/2009 11:07:33 AM

Pros: Very very Fast ram out of the box, runs OS win 7 ultimate edition with ease no errors. Overclocking is unnecessary for an average joe but if need to overclock goto bios. A must buy.

Cons: For most people this maybe a con due to the pricing. But you pay for quality. Enough said.
