Corsair's Dominator® family of DDR2 and DDR3 memory represents the ultimate in performance technology engineering. Dominator was designed to have the highest performing IC's, maximum over-clocking capability, and efficient DHX cooling-all while being stable and reliable.
Pros: Works as it says. Fair price I think. Show up under WEI at 7.8 out of the box. No problems with my board recognizing all six sticks of the two kits I bought. It does show up by default with a lower clock speed but turn on XMP and it dials right in to the speed and timings. With all six sockets filled on the mobo and the size of the heat sinks on these sticks, it almost looks like a solid black block on the board instead of what you typically think to see memory looking like on a board.
Cons: None really. Being bundled with a cooling fan would have been nice. It's not GT but I did not really see an equivalent available in this speed and timing (at least not from Newegg) so I am not really sure what advantage the GT would have given if any other than they typically come with the fan. The blue writing on this matches everything else in my case better than the red on the GT memory anyway. Plus you can still get the fan separate for rather cheap.
Overall Review: I almost bought XMS3 with a higher clock speed but a CAS of 9 for about the same price but getting it past 1600 seems to be touchy for some folks and Corsairs site didn't list it as XMP supported (though people were saying it still worked). Plus the dominator version of the higher speeds starts climbing in price. So rather than having to mess around to get the clock speed I paid for I went with the better CAS rating and the nicer heat sinks. With hassle free settings, no bad sticks and the high performance rating, I am definitely happy with this purchase.
