Question 1

Is this memory "low density" memory? I want to upgrade a Dell Inspiron 1545 running Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit.  The memory spec says it uses PC2-6400 modules.
The reason for my question is that I have had issues before with Dells' requiring low density So-DIMMS, specifically when I went to upgrade a Latitude E6510 and it only worked when I used low density modules.

The terms "low density" and "high density" are fairly vague, and refer to the way memory is arranged on the module -- the latter refers to non-standard techniques that are less compatible, but can allow more RAM to fit onto a single module.

Generally, any memory module that advertises guaranteed compatibility is going to be fully standards-compliant, i.e. "low density".  In this case, Corsair specifies on their info page (which you can view by searching for the model number for this kit on their site) that this memory is guaranteed to work on all AMD and Intel dual-channel boards, so that should be an indication that it is "low density" and is likely to work on your Dell laptop.

I own a Thinkpad T61 8897 which uses non EC memory that I'm looking to upgrade to 8Gb.  Will this work?  If not, any suggestions?

I'm not really sure. The best advice that I can give you would be to contact Lenovo support and ask them about its compatibility. It worked well in my Dell E6500 but because of its expense I would check first. Good luck.

will this memory work in a Gateway laptop?

It totally depends on the specific laptop.  Whether it is Gateway or some other brand makes no difference in anything at all.

You need to research your specific model and find out exactly what memory it needs.  Then you will know what will work.

In my experience, Corsair is some of the best quality memory available anywhere, with the best warranty and excellent customer service.  Therefore I do recommend their products because of my experience.

However, there are many different options that may or may not work in your specific laptop, so you need to find out the details before you buy something.  The manufacturer's web site is a good place to start looking.

* You need to know if your laptop requires DDR2 or DDR3 or what.
 * Then you need to find out how many slots are available... 1, 2, 3, 4 or _.
 * Then you need to find out what the total RAM (memory) capacity is for your laptop, and in what configuration...  1 x 2GB module for 2GB, 2 x 2GB modules for 4GB, 2 x 4GB modules for 8GB, ... there are many possibilities.
 * Then you need to find out what is the optimal clock speed of the RAM (memory) for your laptop... 1333MHz, 1600MHz or something else.

After you know all these details, then you can shop for memory for your laptop.

Is this compatible for My Dell XPS M1210?

The m1210 will not allow even 4 gb of ram. If you were to put in 2 x 2gb, it would not recognize all 4 gb. Therefore, it would not accept the 8 gb with these chips. Sorry. It is an older system that just won't work with more ram.

Question 5

Will this work on an a MacBook White early 2009? I know I can use 4GB but I heard on apple that it can be upgraded to up to 8GB making this old Laptop a lot quicker running multiple apps at the same time.

My understanding of Mac laptops is that they require model specific RAM memory.  In other words, your specific model of Mac will dictate whether or not the memory will work.
By the way, PC memory and Apple memory are not usually compatible.  You need to check your mac specifications or contact Apple to be sure.  Good luck!

Is this memory compatible with HP ProBook 4710s (DDR2)? I have 4GB now (2x2). Will 8GB help very much? Thank you very much for your advice!

The maximum supported size for you notebook is 8GB.  That would help if you are still using Windows XP.

However, 12 to 16GB  would be recommended if you are using Windows 10 for an operating system and that amount of memory is not possible with your notebook. 
You may want to consider replacing your notebook rather than adding 4 GB of memory unless you desire to continue running XP.

I have 4, can I get 8?

It works with no problems in a Sony PCV-AF1L Desktop all in one.
I replaced the two 2 GB with two of these 4 GB, both (2 or 4 GB) So-DIMMs have the same specs. The unit was also upgraded with a Samsung SSD drive. Remarkable computing speed improvement (O/S: WIN7 64bit). Works like a new computer. Hope that helped

The Corsair website doesn't list any ASUS on their compatibility list for memory so I can't say for certain. The ASUS specifications though say a max of 4 GB in 2 sockets so this kit would probably not be compatible. You would need 2 sticks of 2GB from what the docs say at the asus website. (can't put link into the response, sorry) Though it may be best to check with ASUS support as well just to make sure. Sometimes a manual may say something different than the website specs.
