Features | Corsair Mac Memory Upgrade Kits: Guaranteed Performance, Compatibility, and Support Corsair's 4GB and 8GB Mac memory upgrade kits will help your system work better. With hassle-free compatibility and renowned Corsair reliability and support, they're a smart performance investment. One of the best ways to improve your Mac's performance Applications use memory, and some of the applications that run best on the Mac - photo and video editing - use lots of it. That's why outfitting your Mac with a Corcair Mac Memory upgrade kit is one of the best things you can do to maximize your system's performance and agility. With a Mac that's been upgraded to the maximum amount of memory it supports, you'll spend less time waiting for your applications to buffer data to the hard drive, and more time working - or playing. Upgrading memory can also be a cost-effective way to get more life out of your older system: before you trade up to a new one, just upgrade the memory. Tested at Apple Developer Compatibility Labs for Guaranteed Performance Corsair's Mac memory kits are tested at Apple Developer Compatibility Labs and work with most MacBook Pro, iMac, and Mac mini systems shipped in 2011. Pros: It works. It allows me to blaze along running multiple programs at the same time. Geekbench score only increased from 6465 to 6574, but the performance difference is MUCH more noticeable (see below comments).
Cons: None.
Overall Review: Notes for Mac Mini owners looking for RAM: Bottom line: Awesome! I bought this memory hoping it would work with my mid-2011 mac mini that only came with 2GB of Ram (It's the 2.3GHz i5). Having owned other Apple computers, I was really disappointed with the mini - especially while running Parallels (software to run Windows and other OS platforms at the same time) because it was REALLY slow. After installing this 16GB memory kit I can use SEVERAL other programs and simultaneously be running Windows 7 and Ubuntu (Linux) in parallels and the mini keeps up without breaking a sweat. I was curious if 16GB was overkill because when I looked at the Activity Monitor I was only using about 4GB. After loading just about every program on my computer, I was able to get the Activity Monitor to show 8.3GB in use, so the Mini can use more than the 8GB max that Intel and Apple claim. This product does not disappoint!
Pros: Works great in my Late 2011 MacBook Pro with i7 2.5 GHz. Be sure to get CAS 9 RAM (DDR3 1333) for your 2011 MBP and you should not have compatibility problems.
Cons: No problems. I trust Corsair for RAM. They're great.
Pros: Title says it. It's memory. 2x4 1333. It does what it's supposed to do. As always, Corsair comes through. 5 eggs.
Cons: N/A Incompatibility issue on Apple's part and not Corsair's. See Other Thoughts.
Overall Review: Con, but not on Corsair's part, so I'm putting it in the Other Thoughts section. I bought 2 kits of this memory for two computers. One was a 2009 MacBook Pro, and the other, a mid-2010 MacBook Pro. The 2009 model accepted the modules and worked beautifully. The 2010 model would get to the splash screen with the Apple logo and the progress indicator and freeze. After a bit of research, I came to discover that ONLY the mid-2010 model MBPs have this issue. Pre-2010 models will overclock the system bus and newer models have a 1333MHz standard. Pairing one of these modules with a stock module at 1066MHz causes the new module to downclock to match the speed of the older, but you only get 6 of the full 8GB you could be enjoying. Those with an SPD EPROM burner might have been able to manually downclock the modules if Corsair hadn't locked the SPD chip. The only solution is to send these back and get their 1066MHz modules. Again, not an issue with Corsair, but with Apple, so no eggs docke
Pros: 1) Cheap - $50 from Newegg v. $200 from Apple 2) Reliable - has given me ZERO problems since first boot 3) Easy to install - less than 10 minutes of work
Cons: N/A
Pros: Was sold at great price It's Corsair It works

Overall Review: Great RAM for iMac Mid-2011
Pros: inexpensive
Cons: crashing my iMac, not worth the money if you working and then all of a sudden your mac resets. :(
Overall Review: I had 16GB in my iMac, wanted to expand, I used to buy my ram from different vendor but newegg had good deal on this memory, all was good, ordered it, got it right away, package originally sealed, all perfect, installed it in my iMac and my system recognizes it as 32gb now. All great but every day my iMac crashed after this memory was installed. I thought maybe I did not put it correctly so I did take them out and I did re-seat them back to make sure all connection is good, still no luck, resets and sends core back to apple each time it crashes. Bad when you working on a video or photo or even a document and you lose all the changes because of the crash... Need to return it, so lets start the process.
Pros: Excellent performance boost in my late-2011 MBP for a decent price.
Cons: One module was bad right out of the box - within hours, caused several kernel panics under heavy load and consistently failed Apple Hardware Test. Had to get an RMA, and am now waiting for my replacement.
Overall Review: After the failed tests, I read further back in the reviews, and it seems there's a pattern of one of the modules failing. Corsair's quality control leaves a little to be desired. If you purchase this, run an AHT or memtest on it immediately.
Pros: Works great and have sped up the overal feel on my 2011 Mac Book Pro 15in 2.2GHz
Cons: None
Overall Review: I ran MemTest86 after confirming it booted up. No errors what so ever all 8GB are running just fine. Was a little shocked I went from about 1.2GB free of RAM with 4GB but now I have 4.1GB free so to me it seems like more stuff is using the ram which overall makes for a better UI Experience. Got this MBP from my school FullSail to edit video and since my desktop crashed and needs a new mobo I've been using this for everything. Very happy with this RAM.
