Do you really need a dvd drive because this doesn't have a port?

The short answer is no, you probably don't.

These days optical drives are becoming less and less of a necessity. I recently did a build in this case and I haven't needed one. Your needs may vary however.

If you have old software discs with no way to download the software for example you might consider doing a build with an optical drive still, but even then you could always use a USB based optical drive temporarily.

Question 2

Can you move the clear panel to the other side?  Or order one where the clear side is on the left?

No, this is not an inverted-ATX case, and there is no inverted version of it.
Corsair now has the 600C however which may be a bit closer to what you're looking for.

Question 3

I'm interested to buy this, but I got a few questions

1. how much cm is the clearance between the top side to motherboard? hopefully more than 2.5cm (the height of a fan), and even more for the airflow. I can still put two 140mm fans for exhaust on top, right? it won't hit the mobo heatsink or anything?

2. and how about connecting the PSU connector to the mobo's 4x4pin ATX 12v power, hope I get the name right, it's usually on the top part of a mobo, on the corner/point where the two mobo heatsink meet. the PSU cable/connector won't hit/touch 140mm fan? coz one review wrote it is? I'm planning to buy more of Corsair AF140 Quiet, height is 2.5cm

3. the fan setting on the front, I know it's either 2x 140mm or 3x 120mm, but can I install em like 2x 140mm + 1x 120mm? will the 120mm fit there above 2x 140mm? or should I install 3x 120mm instead so whole front panel is covered with fans? is this better for cooling? 2x 140mm would leave some empty space on the front (most top part). I want the HDD get airflow too (still use 3.5" HDD so gotta use that drive bay), so one fan must be positioned on the very bottom. my logic is bigger fan = better/more airflow? or maybe I'm wrong. best scenario is 2x 140mm + 1x 120m, if they won't fit, then 1x140mm + 2x 120mm?

4. how's the cooling/airflow of this case? good? I won't use water cooling, strictly still using air cooling due to budget, so it's all about fans and airflow. hope this case is better than my current case. most buyer's reviews wrote good, though there's one guy wrote.. hotter in here? this is crucial as I live in tropical so cooling is vital. as for noise, I can tolerate some level of noise, I believe this case with Corsair quiet fans will be much quieter than my current case with cheap fans. airflow/cooling > noise

5. the 2 included fans, what's the connector? 3 pin (DC, to mobo)? 4 pin (PWM, to mobo)? 4pin molex (to PSU molex)? I'm guessing 3 pin? I checked Corsair site about AF fans, it's 3pin, same then?

one thing I forgot to mention: I will only use air cooling, so no radiator etc. really got no budget for water cooling. so still old school style here, it's all about fans. so question no.1 means, yes, I can install 2x 140mm on top. should be. I'm not too worry about my CPU temp since I use CoolerMaster Hyper 212X with 2 fans push-pull. more about the GPU, wanna blow as much air as I can to it

my lowly poor man's spec, nothing fancy, just for normal gaming and daily usage (watching movies, internet), currently no OCing (yet): i5-4690k with CM Hyper 212X with 2 fans, MSI GTX970 Gaming 4G, Asus Z97Pro, 2x Corsair Vengeance Pro 8GB 1600MHz DDR3, 2x 3.25 mechanical HDD SATA3, PSU Corsair RM650i

my current PC case is a cheap local brand, so I won't mention the name since it no one here would know, dimensions 45mm x 180mm x 435mm (this is measured from the inside of the case, not from entire outside surface), PSU on top position, 1x 120mm exhaust fan on back, 1x 120mm on bottom front behind HDD cage, 1x 80mm right below the HDD, case floor, front, hidden between HDD cage. 1x 120mm on side panel blow directly to GPU side on tight distance 1cm, 1x 80mm rigged to HDD cage with zip ties blow to GPU front, mainly the PCB surface. that's the best I could do with this case, and my temp: CPU idle is around 35-40C, full load 60C, highest I've seen 65-68C but rarely. GPU idle 35-40C, full load highest I ever seen 70C, depends on game, average is around 60-65C. hopefully with 400C case I'll get even lower temps, at least the same, not higher

Could you fit a 240mm radiator, say from the H100i, in the top of this case? Thanks!

Yes.  It's a tight fit though, especially if you're wanting to do a push-pull configuration.  I couldn't put mine in the top because the RAM slots on my board were in the way.  I'm using an Asus P8Z77-V and they're pretty close to the edge though.  I opted for the front because I wanted push-pull on my fans.

Question 5

The specs say this case can fit E ATX. Is this true? seems a bit of a stretch...

this will fit a E ATX, how ever your will need to remove the rubber grommets for the wires and the wires are in a bad position. i would not recommend it.

Question 6

Does it have a PWM fan hub installed?

Unfortunately, no. Each fan must be connected individually to the motherboard or to an external fan hub. I have bequiet! silent wings 2 and they are connected individually to my Asus motherboard.

Question 7

I was interested in getting this case, but I was curious about the heatsink clearance.  Most cases I have seen will have that spec, but I don't see it on this one.  I currently have the Hyper 212 EVO which is 159mm.  Can anyone confirm whether or not this will fit?

Yeah, I have the Hyper 212 EVO in my 400C case and it fits fine! More than enough room for sure.

does the case come with motherboard screws already or no?

It comes with motherboard standoffs. It should also come with a bag of screws. Most cases do. Especially for $100 case.

this maybe a stupid question, but it's about the electrical static discharge. so after discharging it (with water+soap spray as mentioned in one of the reviews), we're done or? is this a one time deal, or the ESD will return again after some time, which means we need to discharge them periodically, sort of like maintenance like cleaning dust from dust filters from time to time

kinda confused about this. just watch a YouTube review about this PC case, and there's talk about the static: acrylic = static forever, static attracts/pulls dust so we must clean the window from time to time. so ESD only pulls dust, or.. I heard it's dangerous to electronics, right?

I want to make this very simple for you!
ESD is damaging for your parts, period.
Dust will always get into your PC (will get in less with fan filters and positive air pressure, you can watch LinusTechTips' video on positive/negative air pressure to understand it.
Point is, dust will always be present, no matter what.

When building in your PC, ground yourself (never heard of soap+water spray method, but if it works, it works), build your parts (test for DOA products first of course, by building on your motherboard box which is the best platform before building it in your case), apply fans in positive pressure, get fan filters (this case gives you a lot so you're covered), and then every month or so, use compressed air to get rid of dust and use a soft brush to get rid of stubborn dust, then used compressed air to blow it away. Repeat process.

Every time you deal with your parts, always ground yourself first. The chances of ESD damaging your parts increases if you live in lower pressure environments with less humidity or if you have carpet. Regardless, you shouldn't have trouble with ESD. Just make sure you routinely clean your PC and always ground yourself before dealing with your parts.

Will a 120mm Rad fit onto the rear exhaust?
