Would I be able to swap the fans out of the corsair hydro H105 for these?

Yes, these are simple 4 pin PWM fans. You run the PWM cable to power and then the smaller cable to the fan controller for color settings

Can you control these using Corsair link?

Unfortunately no, not natively at least. To control them through the Corsair Link, you need the Corsair Commander Mini for the fans. It looks like there's another piece of hardware that would control the LEDs, called the  Corsair Link Lighting Node. Question 3

If you buy a HD 120 RGB single fan / no controller what mode will they automatically run in? I don't care about controlling the colors I just need 1 fan that is rainbow to match the rest of my inwin 805 infinity case.

The fan will use a PWM header for fan power. If you don’t get the controller and don’t already have one, the RGB lights won’t power on. There is a separate cable that plugs into the controller that provide power and LED control.

Do you need the controller to control the RGB?

Yes. I recommend getting the 3-pack that comes with the controller. Also, adding on the Lighting Node Pro let you control the fans even further (the fan controller is still required).

is this compatible with MSI Mystic lightning software?

Sadly this fan is so proprietary that it only works with its control that you either buy it separate or in a bundle.  There is no connection available from its control that will work with any software.  If you want RGB fans go with thermal take RGB fans.

Does anyone know if this can be controlled by ASUS' Aura RGB Lighting?

No. The LED strips in these fans have their own microcontroller per LED group, with a unique 3 pin configuration. They can only be controlled through the manual fan controller, the newly released link node pro, or a custom programmable RGB controller that you would have to program yourself.

Can you connect more then 6 fans. The fan controller only supports 6, do I need to buy another controller?

IT'S not a fan controller. It's And LED controller.

if you want to control the RPM of the actual fans you'll need a can hub.

The LED controller only host up to 6 RGB HD120's
