There's fast, and then there's Force fast. Force Series 3 SSDs have even quicker read and write times when they're installed in PCs that use the latest SATA 3 interface. The Corsair Force Series 3 SSDs offer maximum performance for your ultimate system with up to a maximum read speed of 550 MB/s and a write speed of 510 MB/s, and max random 4K write of 85,000 IOPS. You'll be amazed at the improvement over traditional hard drive access times the first time you turn on your computer, and for virtually everything you do with your PC. System startup, application load times, data transfers, and even shutdown times are all faster. Also, your system will be more responsive with the Force Series 3 SSDs. Add up all the time you spend all day waiting for your computer — starting up, loading game levels, saving large files and documents — and it can be significant. Using a PC can be a lot more enjoyable when it's not always making you wait.
SATA 3 CompliantForce Series 3 SSDs have even quicker read and write times when they're installed in PCs that use the latest SATA 6Gb/s interface. However, it is also backward compatible with SATA 3Gb/s.
TRIM SupportForce Series 3 SSDs feature support for the Windows 7 TRIM command, which allows them to store only the data they need and perform memory optimization to ensure the fastest possible write speeds.
SSD Benefits - Cool and Quiet, with Low Power ConsumptionSSDs have no moving parts so they can handle shock, vibration and temperature changes far in excess of traditional hard drives. Also, there's no noise or vibration, and the lower power consumption helps keep things cool inside your PC thanks to this feature.
2.5” to 3.5" Adapter IncludedThe 2.5" form factor allows for installation in most notebook PCs with no adapter required. If you're adding a Force Series 3 SSD to your desktop PC, use the included 3.5" adapter to mount it in any standard hard drive bay.
Pros: Corsair replaced my first (bad) drive quickly. I requested an advanced return last Wednesday and got the new drive on Friday. So far the new drive is solid.......and FAST! Would give it 5 Eggs right now but need a few weeks to make sure the first drive's issues have been fixed. I've been using the drive for 3 days now & I've been throwing every program I have at it. Rock solid so far. I never did experience the "Drive Disappearing" or blue screens on the original drive that some users did though.
Cons: Still too early to know if all the initial problems have been corrected. According to Corsair's tech support, it was a hardware/firmware issue, but no one's giving details on it yet. Whatever the reason, Corsair's or Sandforce's QC should have caught this one. Also, the new versions are now cheaper than what I paid for the bad one! Feeling a bit ripped off that I paid more for a drive that had to be returned. Not to mention the sheer joy of two OS installs in 2 weeks!
Overall Review: In case you're wondering how to make sure you have a "good" drive, check the part # on the UPC sticker. Anything starting with 1123 or higher is a new drive. 1122 or lower should be returned. Just like the Sea**** fiasco from a couple years back, Corsair's rep will take some tiime to recover from a whole production run of bad drives. I personally have had nothing but positive experiences with Corsair products for years so I have faith in them. Plus, they did get replacement drives out very quickly. Still, a strike is a strike.
