Built for SpeedCorsair’s Force Series GT uses the new SandForce SF-2280 controller with native support for SATA 6Gb/s, combined with ONFI synchronous flash memory. Force Series GT SSDs deliver outstanding read/write performance and significantly faster system response, boot times, and application load times than SATA 2 solid-state drives, with out-of-box performance of up to 85K Random Write IOPS, read speeds of up to 555MB/s. The Force Series GT is particularly adept at moving compressed data. You'll appreciate this real-world benefit if you work with music, movie and graphics files.
SSD Benefits – Reliability, Cool and Quiet, with Low Power ConsumptionBecause SSDs have no moving parts, they can handle shock, vibration and temperature changes far in excess of traditional hard drives. That's important for desktop PCs, and essential for notebooks. Traditional mechanical hard drives spin at thousands of revolutions per minute. This takes power, and generates noise and heat. Since SSDs have no moving parts, there's no noise or vibration, and the lower power consumption helps keep things cool inside your PC.
Trim SupportThe Force Series GT SSDs feature support for the Windows 7 TRIM command. This allows them to store only the data they need and perform memory optimization to ensure the fastest possible write speeds.
3.5" AdapterAll Force Series GT SSDs are backward compatible with SATA 3Gb/s. The 2.5" form factor allows for installation in most notebook PCs with no adapter required. If you're adding a Force Series GT SSD to your desktop PC, use the included 3.5" adapter to mount it in any standard hard drive bay.

Pros: This drive is very fast and achieves the specs.
It is a good price for the performance and capacity.
Well built.
Cons: Does not come with software to move everything off you're old drive.
Some people seem to have problems with the drive hanging from time to time. I think it has do with AHCI. I tried on in AHCI and experienced this problem. However, with 1 or more in RAID I did not have this problem. So just set your peripherals to RAID and it should stop. Because its an easy fix I did not remove an EGG
Overall Review: Newegg is so much better than "the big online retailer".
I bought one on "the big one" with expedited shipping ($6.00) and it took it over a week to ship. That's not expedited!! I bought another on Newegg with free shipping and it took 1 day.
Pros: FAST on a SATA III connection. Nice that Corsair throws in a 3.5" bay adapter (though I do not need it personally). Sandforce controller for the win!
Cons: none
Overall Review: This is the 3rd Corsair SSD i've owned and all 3 are champs. Using this one as a boot drive in Win7.
Pros: Fast, smooth, small, light and quiet. I purchased the SSD SATA III to try out Windows 8 Pro 64-bit and compare it to a 7200 RPM SATA II HDD that is running Windows 7. The SSD way out-performs the HDD. Installation of Win 8 was a breeze, took less than 10 minutes on the SSD. Boot up time to log-in screen is around 15 seconds. Received a 7.4 on Windows Experience Index.
Cons: None so far except I think the drives are still too expensive. Maybe by next year prices and storage capacity will be better. I'm not expecting to download or record HD or SD movies, so 240GB should be enough for me. But for others it may not be enough. This SSD will mainly be used for gaming.
Overall Review: For anyone wanting a fast and quiet drive that doesn't use much power to run, get an SSD. Make sure the motherboard has SATA III connections, otherwise the purchase and use of this SSD will be meaningless.
Current Config: [Ci7-3770K, Intel Z77, GTX 680 FTW+ 4GB, 8GB DDR3 1600, FSGT SSD 240GB (Win 8), 500GB HDD (Win 7), 3D BD Burner.]
Pros: Very fast. Desktop mounting brackets included. Arrived in 3 days. Slae price.Sand Force cotroller.
Cons: Desktop bracket is to short to mount in HP Elite Desktop. No Corsair branded HD cloning software avaliable.
Overall Review: I forgot to enable AHCI in BIOS before I installed the OS. So I had to TRIM support in RAID mode. I had to reinstall the OS from fresh after enabling AHCI. Everything then worked great. Realy fast drive. Cold boots to password screen in under 12 seconds. Having OS load off SSD makes an unbeliveable difference.
Pros: I have purchased 6 of these for different applications and every single one has worked out beautifully. Amazing speed
Cons: When used in raid all firmwares must be exactly the same. I had 2 of these in a raid 0 and after a month of use I had a corrupted linux OS.
Overall Review: I have 4 of these in raid 0 on an LSI 9266-4i with a battery backup for a computational chemistry server. I am seeing ~3GB/s read/writes and could not be happier.
Corsair support was very helpful and knowledgeable when I called about the 2 SSD raid 0 problem. The guy spent an hour on the phone until we tracked down the problem and solved it.
Pros: 7.9 wei...newest firmware...atto benchmarked it at what they say it will do...its pretty and its made by corsair

Overall Review: great drive if you know anything about ssd's you shouldn't have a problem if you dont you might want to read up on them...they speed everything up well worth the money especially now...six months ago they were double the price
Pros: Very fast. I'd have to say that a nice SSD significantly improves your user experience more than a CPU upgrade. I'm only running a SATA II controller and it's very impressive. Quiet and stays relatively cool. Corsair's firmware update is very easy to use and can be done through the OS (as long as no OS files are on the SSD). I am running 2 of these RAID-0 and performance is great.
Cons: Shipped with a rubbish firmware. I am very disappointed that Corsair even released the drives with this firmware (v1.3). I spent 2 weeks troubleshooting every other piece of hardware in my computer and was getting multiple BSOD per day (running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit). A couple errors were INPAGE ERRORs, and the rest couldn't get dumped because the drive would simply power off for no reason. Finally found a forum on Corsair's site (not directly within the support for this drive) and updated my firmware to 1.3.3. This solved all of my problems and my system has been stable for 2 weeks.
Overall Review: If you're questioning a CPU upgrade because you want things to run a little faster, consider purchasing an SSD first. If you are still not satisfied with the speed improvement, then purchase the CPU. If this drive had shipped with the 1.3.3 firmware and I never had to see the 1.3 firmware, I would have given this drive 5 eggs.
Pros: This drive is very fast and achieves the specs. It is a good price for the performance and capacity. Well built.
