Ok ima noon. What's the mini usb used for. I read about it doing something woth power usage. Is that what it is for?

The mini usb is for corsair link. It comes with a mini usb to usb header. With the corsair link software you can pull additional info about the psu. Not required but it can be useful.

Question 2

I'm considering this as a separate power supply for GPUs. Can I simply plug only the necessary cables, or do I still need to 'jump' the motherboard connection to get it to power up?

I would suggest you not use a power supply just for a gpu.
It needs the MB connected to respond to power demand so yes you would have to "jump" it to make it power on.
But again I highly suggest you not do this.

No psu is "crossfire ready" or "sli ready". It either has enough Watts to power your system or it doesn't. 
You need to add up your system requirements and judge that way. For example if your cpu uses ~120W and  you have 3 graphics cards each pulling 200W. So (200×3) + 120 = 720W. You would be fine this is a 850W psu.

you can go to websites to calculate power needs. Just build a mock system of parts you are using and then check power requirements. E.G. "PCpartpicker"

is this enough for crossfire fury x and 6700k ?

Fury Load power consumption on Furmark (and other benchmarks) is around 400 watts. Cross fire will make it 800. Though real world scenarios will be lesser than that.

This PSU might work for crossfire Fury X, but i will personally suggest getting a 1000W psu for high end SLI/Crossfire rigs.

Hey Miguel.... sry about that.  I'm a bit dyslexic and got it scrambled.  I agree with you, psu's can be so bloody big.  I have a 1000 watt corsair, which is large, and I was afraid the HX850 would be big too. I can't give it to you in mm, but the hx850 is 3.5" x 6".

The XH850 has a usb2 connection for monitoring the psu usage.  I had to buy two extra usb headers because my mobo came with only 1 usb2 header.

I don't have the cables that come with the set.... does anyone know where I can find a compatible cable for this hx850i ?  I tried buying some but they're not fitting into the modular slots. Its heavily stalling the completion of my cpu. PLEASE HELPP

Does the HX860i support SLI?

Absolutely, or quad.... whatev you can afford.  Of course, you have to have the bridge between the two cards, and set up the sli in the geforce experience so your puter recognizes both gpus
