How hard is it to switch out this ram with the ram already in my PC? Do I need to do any driver downloads or BIOS setup? Is the RGB compatible with a B350 or B450? Thanks!

Hello Andrew, Upgrading your memory is as simple as just swapping out or adding the additional RAM. No driver updates or anything of the kind is needed. Is higher or lower timing better?

Just clarification.  For speed, which is 3000 Mhz for this particular ram, higher is better. For timing, which for this ram the specification is 16-20-20-38, lower is better.  As Jacob said though, you won't notice much, if any, difference in day to day use.  This is XMP ram, extreme memory profile-an "authorized" overclocking standard.  Which means you have to make a selection in bios to run it at 3000 Mhz, but if you just plug it in and don't select XMP in bios it'll run at 2133 Mhz.

The best way to confirm specs is actually by checking the manufacturer's website. With many of our products you can click on the "Warranty & Returns" tab and you will find the Manufacturer's contact info, including the manufacturer's website.  While this kit has been reported by many users to be Ryzen compatible, this memory is not validated by MSI to work with your particular motherboard.

This memory does appear to be within spec for the Prime X470 Pro and many users have reported no issues using this memory with the X470 platform, however of note is this kit is not listed on ASUS's QVL (Qualified Vendors List) and may not be supported by their technical support teams.  Please note that while the memory is not on the QVL, this may be due to availability at the time of testing and does not mean the memory is inherently incompatible.

Hello, i originally bought this memory for my recent build which I'm happy with how it's preformed and i was thinking of buying another two stick's to up the memory in my system to 32gb and add more light while filling the remaining memory slots at the same time but i had a question first. In the Corsair Icue software it said that there was a firmware update for my memory which i installed, if i buy two more sticks and they don't have the updated firmware will there be a problem with them not working properly or not working at all paired with the two that have the updated firmware? I just wanted to ask first, thank you in advance for the help it is appreciated. :)

Worst case is you remove the 2x updated sticks and out the new ones in, repeat the firmware update then place all 4 memory back in.
