How much does the base weigh? How tall is it?

Cannot tell you how much it weighs because my unit is adhesive attached to my desk. I can only guess the weight of approx. a few ounces. But do not let the light weight fool you because once you apply the base adhesive, this unit will remain firm attached to the desk. Height is approx 4 3/8 inch tall. What is great about the unit is that it takes a corded mouse and effectively creates the feeling of a cordless mouse. Great tool for either desktop productivity or gaming. Highly recommended.

What is this thing used for?  All the pictures they have here for it, but doesn't show what it is for or how it is used!!  :(

Google "Mouse Bungee" to see some examples of how devices like this are used.  This one is unique in that it uses a suction cup, rather than relying solely on weight or rubber feet.  What it does is it holds your mouse cord in one place so that it doesn't get caught up on anything.  The entire arm is made out of rubber, so it flexes and moves with the cable.  If you use a wired mouse, you can get part of the effect by just placing a heavy object on the wire to hold it in one place, but this works a little better because of its flexibility.

I found that it works very well on smooth or plastic surfaces like formica (which means most desks.)  It has a harder time with natural wood, and some cheaper laminates.
