Is this Compatible with a Mac Book Pro, No Retina Disiplay, Purchased End of 2012?

I purchased "Crucial 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 1600 Memory for Apple Model CT2K8G3S160B" plus a Samsung 840 Pro 256GB Solid State Drive for upgrade of a MacBook Pro MD101LL/A (13 inch non-retina LCD), for my daughter/education.  Install of the RAM was very easy, and the system recognized it instantly.  I've had no problems with the RAM or the SSD ... upgrade of the SSD was a bit trickier, but there's great vids on how to perform the upgrade in Youtube ... and NEWEGG is easily the right place to shop.

Sorry but I used the ram in my 13inch MacBook Pro, my laptop is about 4-5 years old and it has the intel cpu in it.  For the laptop it was a simple drop in go, Mac OSX saw it right away, no fuss or muss.  Good luck with your quest.  Might want to try the Apple Forum.

I would avoid Corsair. Too many bad sticks from them to recommend. Patriot too. Crucial's OK, as is GSkill. Don't go el cheapo on RAM

I have two 'late 2012' 2.3 GHz i7 Mac minis, one with 8GB of Apple installed RAM and one with 16GB (Crucial 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 1600 Memory for Apple Model CT2K8G3S160BM) from Newegg. I run parallels so I can run Windows 7, the 'windows experience index' available in Windows rates both computers at 5.9 for RAM speed. I have had no trouble or complaints with the Crucial RAM.

Is this ram compatible with MacBookPro8,2?

I can't speak directly to the MacBookPro8.2, but I put 16 GB Crucial DDR3 1600 into a Mac Mini with I7, Parallels and Windows 7.  Windows 7 'Windows Experience Index' rated the RAM at 5.9 (on a scale from 1.0 to 7.9). I also have access to a Mac Mini which is identical except it has 8 GB of Apple installed RAM and the same test gave the same rating. Don't know any details about that test, except it claims to rate "Memory operations per second" I'm three months with this memory and no problems.  Also, it's always been a pleasure doing business with NewEgg.

Provided that your computer will take DDR3L ram, it doesn't matter if it runs Windows, macOS, Linux, or any of their various versions, it will work with it.  The main thing to check is that your motherboard can accept laptop-style 204-pin DD3L ram.  All laptop DDR3 and DDR3L ram is 204-pin, however, the "L" designates that the ram is low voltage, and you want to make sure your motherboard will accept it.  Because this ram is certified as "Mac compatible", it will almost always be a higher cost, and the actual chips are held to higher tolerances.  Macintosh computers can use standard ram, however, they are less tolerant to the inefficiencies of cheap ram, and thus why they make Mac certified ram.  When prices are similar, I will buy Mac certified ram and use them wherever I need it.  I currently have 2 sets of this ram, one in my 2011 MacBook and the other in a Fujitsu convertible tablet/laptop running Windows 7 and Windows 10, with zero issues.  Crucial is also one of the best quality ram manufacturers that you can purchase for stability at stock speeds, and is almost always a safe bet.

Absolutely! It even matches the Apple OEM specification of CAS 11, so it will run exactly as Apple factory memory would, same timings, same speed.

I suggest that you call Crucial support (see their website). They were very helpful, checked the part number against the Mac Mini I have and confirmed it would work. (It has.) I was then able to come back to Newegg and buy with confidence.

i know your looking for someone that is using a mid 2010 mac book pro 17" but based on the specs that app lists im not sure if this would work. They are listing a max RAM of 8 GB and the frequency of 1066.

I would imagine that you already did this but did you post on apple's support forums to see what other people have maxed their's out to?

You can use the New Egg Memory finder and put in your model number to see what they even see for your mac. Most im seeing are 4 GB Sticks.
