I think the answer is "NO", you might need DDR3 memory, but ... You are not asking the right question. Have you found a motherboard for your i5-4690? Do more homework on the Newegg web site. Without knowing the motherboard and the chipset, this question really can't be answered. If you know the socket the i5 fits into, you may be able to find a board with such a socket. Then find the memory  compatible with the board. Then ask again.

It probably is but you're giving the wrong information in order for someone to make a definitive answer. Instead of listing your CPU, it would be more appropriate to list your motherboard information.
