Hello,

I have a samsung np-n210 will it support this?

I believe that the maximum windows will support is 2gb but I am running this as a linux system. Any advice would be appreciated.

I. Rather than actually tell you it will or won't - you need to go to the owners manual and find that answer in your BIOS documentation. Also, look up (online) the motherboard documentation for your system which should inform you the specifications for the memory that will work in your system.

II. Actually MS Windows will support a great deal of memory. BUT, it depends on what Windows OS your talking about.

Windows XP = 4 GB Max memory

Windows 7 (32 bit) = 4 GB Max Memory

Windows 7 (64 bit) = 8 GB - Starter Edition
Windows 7 (64 bit) = 8 GB - Home Basic Edition
Windows 7 (64 bit) = 16 GB - Home Premium Edition
Windows 7 (64 bit) = 192 GB - Professional/Enterprise/Ultimate Editions

I suggest you go to the library and consult a good book on Windows(MS Press is generally a good source publisher) and for Memory hardware consult "Upgrading and Repairing PCs" by Scott Mueller. Both these books are rather expensive, which is why I'm sending you to the library first rather than to a book store.

As for how much memory Linux will support - I don't know. A known hardware limitation is how much memory your Motherboard/BIOS will support though.
